Bottle: Poured black to very dark brown (very dark red under lights) with a thick off-white head that lasted the glass and laced all the way. A very interesting nutty chocolate aroma with some caramel notes in the background. Flavour was caramel biscuits, chocolate, and light grainy coffee. Medium bitterness. I found it a little presence and was just a bit too watery on the palate. Otherwise a very nice stout indeed. Dredd (932) - Bentleigh, AUSTRALIA - JUN 28, 2004
nice well balanced stout, chocolate and coffe aroma’s and a hefty dose of burnt toffee and bitterness. DrBeer (862) - Solna Stockholm, SWEDEN - JUN 26, 2004

Dark brown, rich head. Chocolate aroma. Sweetish and fairly light bodied with mild, soft mouthfeel mand notes of coffee. Salty finish. AlphaOne (142) - AUSTRALIA - MAR 22, 2004
UPDATED: MAY 3, 2004 Reddish black with a smallish head. sweet caramel/toffee malt, as with most Grand Ridge brews is strong in the aroma. with slight burnt toast/coffee roasted bitterness. taste is sweeter than most Australian stouts, burnt toast and chocolate bitterness in finish

smells of molasses and caramel initially but doesn't have the body to follow. Looks suprisingly like coke. Initial flavors are quite sweet and it does have a nice dry finish but there is something funny in there, kind of a biscuity flatness in the middle and it follws into the aftertaste. Shame. The aroma and initial flavor held some promise for my taste. Linc (739) - Sydney, AUSTRALIA - DEC 31, 2003
Mild roasty stout with some good, strong caramelly malt flavours, a tad thin on the body, but good and smooth. inenigma (10) - sydney, AUSTRALIA - DEC 15, 2003
Crap. Absolutely crap, nothing but honey and vegemite in the taste, tried drowning out the Taste with Mountain Goat, didn't work. Then tried washing out with VB (yuk !!!!), but, couldn't sallow that shit so the honey taste stayed at the back of my throat all fucking night long..... Never fucking again. UPDATED: MAR 22, 2004 lightly honied with dark roasted malt.
dark red with nice creamy head.
a little watery, lightly bitter dark chocolate.
medium/creamy body, finishes lightly roasted malt and fruity hops.
a little watery but a nice sweet stout overall. Choos (754) - Taylors Hill, AUSTRALIA - DEC 4, 2003
Gentle roast aroma with caramel highlights, a hint of vegemite and herbs. Nice oily black looking. Light caramel (again scotch finger biscuit) flavour with coffee and dark roast malt finishes dry. Found it thinner than I expected but really easy to drink.
