Porterhouse, Stockholm. Quite much black colour with a mediumsized brown head. Aroma is caramel, toffee, cream and some slight spicyness along with mildly roasted tones. Flavour is quite similar with some dark dry fruityness added.

Tap at the White Horse Pub, London. Pours opaque, brown-red with a soft, foamy white head. Roasted malt, brown sugar aroma. Sweet flavor with dark malts, brown sugar, light smoke and modest char. Deep brown, bordering on black. Small, staying, creamy, beige head. Aroma is mild sweet, quite a bit of tartish berry, roasted malts, light chocolate. Medium, quite prickly carbonation, dry and light mouthfeel. Flavour is sweet at first, chocolate, softly fruity, then turns roasted and dry. Nice malty bitter finish where it almost feels a bit smoky. Shame that the prickliness of the carbonation kinda limits the experience.
Black with a tan head, deep roasted malt with definite chocalatey notes. Smooth and easy to drink, light in the body. Very good.

(Draught at Monk’s Café Wallingatan, Stockholm) Very dark brown colour with frothy, beige head. Malty, roasted nose with chocolate, dark bread, cocoa and ryvita. Roasted, malty taste with notes of chocolate, coffee, dark bread and ryvita. Coffee bitterness in the finish. Medium body, rather dry. UPDATED: SEP 5, 2003 Like it more and more every time i have it. Roasty, vegemitey nose. Very nice soft texture. Nicely bitter and roasty, a bit tarry aswell, it actually manages to cover the palate quite well, despite not having a very thick palate. Dry finish. Pours black, nice finger of tight crema head. Chocolate, coffee, raisins and (oddly) citrus aromas. Body is fairly thin, but perhaps heavier than the ABV would suggest. Carbonated mouthfeel - quite a lot too much. Sweetish fruits and coffee with some burnt malt notes.
