2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle from the brewery - pours a hazed gold with a 2 finger white cap...moderate carbonation. Aroma is floral and berries over sweet malts. Average body, alick mouth feel. Flavor is robust with berry fruits and tartness balancing well with the sweet malts, small hop presense, long wet finish where fruit and malt linger. A more substantial summer fruit beer which is a pleasant change but with the lack of color and intensity of the druit taste, I’m wondering if fruit extracts were used instead of real fruit.
bottle from a fiend. poured a hazy golden, minimal head, tan, aroma, berries some malt, floral. taste the berry was hard to get had to wait till t warmed a bit to get it, malts some hops. DerWeg (1682) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - AUG 28, 2012
Noted as "A rich malty ale with a blackberry twist." No kiddin’! Cloudy light golden-brown muck like you just juiced a bunch of fruit for an energy cocktail. Exceptional taste and decent aromas sun-ripe berry - perfumey berry, acidy/sweetbalance, mineral, and finish has long playful flavors of old-style blackberry licorice candy - and just a nice hop bittering. kevinsenn (2215) - Waterloo, Ontario, CANADA - AUG 27, 2012
500mL bottle from brewery. Note that this is different from last year’s "Blackberry Wheat", as this is not a wheat beer. Pours a hazy amber. Big wonderful berry aroma. Sweet and tart, with a more-than-slight berry taste, and moderate bitterness in the finish. Slightly flat on the tongue, with a weak body.
