On tap at The Only cafe. Grows on me. Cloudy orange coloured. Strong ginger aromas. Above average mouthfeel, ginger and malting that is a bit complex and therefore interesting. Also getting celery and spice. Like a cold ginger soup rather than a ginger soda.
Pours a clear honey colour, with a gorgeous massive fluffy head. Aroma includes notes of ginger bread, cinnamon, and bread crust. Upon tasting I am thrown way off, it is quite sour and tangy. Perhaps it has become infected. There are hints of ginger, and notes of what this beer may have tasted like. November 30, 2012 - on draught at Volo. Hazy ruby-amber with a smallish off-white creamy head. Aroma is floral, diacetyl, overly sweet, only a bit of ginger (6 at best). Taste is more ginger, not as much sweetness, although it’s a "gingerbread" ginger rather than a "holy crap my tongue is on fire" ginger - sweet and cloying, a little alcohol; thick, astringent, moderately carbonated - starts a bit ginger ale fountain syrup, finishes sweet and oddly dry - hard to finishes judging this, really. Draught at Volo, Nov. 30. Pours a hazy deep amber-gold with a small lasting frothy off-white head. Some lacing on the glass. Mild aroma of malt and ginger -- the ginger comes out slightly more as it sits. Flavour of malt and light ginger, but nowhere near as much ginger as expected or desired. Average bodied. Good but not gingery enough.

On tap: pours a pale gold clouded ale in the glass with a smallish white cap ... medium carbonation...aroma is a light but peristant ginger note over fresh cereals the favor is mild with a ginger back bone...not overpowwering but part of the brew. Clean uneventful finish with no aftertaste. Obviously the brewer put the ginger in the mash , not the boil and that seems to work here...a mild ale with a ginger note, good to session and there you go. On tap at Imbibe, Kitchener. It seems as if this was a special beer for the opening of this new beer bar, but I don’t have that confirmed. I thought maybe it was just the Highballer at first, but once the pint arrived in front of me I knew it was a completely different beer. Somewhat hazy orange with a medium white head, and bursting with a pungent gingery aroma. The flavour was also a huge kick to the tongue with spicy ginger, as well as some lemon zest and a mild malt body underneath. Felt reasonably full on the palate, but without any booziness. If you love ginger, this beer would be a dream come true. Reminded me of the pickled ginger one would get with sushi. I like ginger, but in small doses, so this wasn’t really my thing, although I can still respect it for what it is.
