500mL bottle from brewery. Pours hazy firey red. Aroma is full of candied orange peel. Some candied orange peel in the taste, but it is mostly overpowered by aggressive spices.

[4190-20111213] Tap. Sweetened vinegar caramel cherry pit juice aroma. Clear, amber red body with a medium-lasting foamy off-white head. Sweet grainy bitter flavour has a distinct heathery floral note. Medium body. Good base but odd floral notes. (7/3/7-/3/13) 3.3

Bottle given to me for Christmas by my MUM. Pours a mahogany with a an off white head, a little lace here and there. Aroma is spicy some pumpkin and nutmeg. Tastes spicy, bitter and sweet. Not their best brew, but really nice none the less.

On tap> Hazy, deep amber-brown with a nice puffy tan cap that laces up the glass. Aroma: I Get a lot of caramel in the nose on this one, not much toastiness or roast, big bready sweetness, spicy. Big chew of malt in front but this turns a bit sweet and the hops don’t balance it well. Spice and some hops mid palate. Long wet finish with some hops showing up late in the profile. Bock is my drink but I’m not impressed with this one, a bit too sweet, not enough roast or toastiness in the profile, not enough Hallertau presence and spice does not compliment bock very well IMHO....so far this year Cameron’s is the best doppelbock out there locally.

On tap at Volo. Pours a cloudy reddish brown with modest-sized off-white head. Aroma is candyish and spicy with sweet caramel, light fruit and spice that I might have guessed as nutmeg. Flavour similar - not sickly sweet but definite candyish character with gentle spicing. Rather gentle carbonation; body is lighter than I would have guessed. Pleasant.

500mL bottle from the brewery. Pours a somewhat hazy muddy copper with virtually no head. The aroma is really solid, very sweet and perfumy, no much spice, classic GRB malt character, presents itself well if that makes any sense. Flavour is rich and satisfying. The solid Dopplebock base matched well with the not-over-the-top spice and sweeter aspects, as well as GRB’s crunchy characteristic malt body. Perhaps a bit sulfury. The only major issue I have is with the level of carbonation, but It can be fixed with swirling the glass. Very solid one, I’m glad nothing outshines anything else, but complements it instead. Well done GRB.

This is a very nice beer. Fruit and spiciness in the nose and the initial taste, body rolls around nicely on the tongue, reasonably attractive brown colour. Slightly sweet, just enough bitterness to make it good. Slightly warm, but not too obviously alcoholic. Worth picking up.

Bottle, pours nice and smell is really spicy, very similar to pumpkin beers, it is quite good and there was lots of life. thanks for the share

2011-12-13. Crisp brown body, small beige head and lace. 3+ Sweet malty flavour with a pleasant, mild spice character that starts out in the background and grows slightly. 7+ Sweet pleasant aroma, sugary malt and spice, Christmas spices (nutmeg?) are more prominent than in the flavour, but not overbearing. Smooth average plus to medium bodied palate. 3+ Pretty nice. 15+ 7/4/7/3/15 On tap at volo
