Draft -Toasted malts and some toffee. Dark clear brown with a rich edge head. Toffee, twig and a hoppy bitterness. I get more of an American bitter more than anything else from this. Tessic (1249) - Brantford, Ontario, CANADA - DEC 15, 2014
This ale poured a deep red colour with an off white, foamy head. Scents include ripe fruit, sweet malt and hops. First swig was smooth with heavy flavours of malt, smoke, cocoa and a little whiskey. Finish is malty with sweet almost molasses aftertaste, with a nice hop flavour lingering. JoeMcPhee (10129) - Toronto, ON, Ontario, CANADA - SEP 26, 2014
Deep dark brown black pour. The nose is decent. Lightly malty and a bit of toast. Softly sweet on the finish with a nice touch of fruit. Pretty lovely and understated.

2014-09-12. Murky dark amber body with a small white head. Aroma has a ton of fruity esters and light alcohol. Flavour is fruity and alcoholic, sweet brief malt middle then a dry alcoholic finish. Average bodied palate, soft to low carbonation. Decent, a touch thin overall but enjoyable. On tap at C’est What Festival, Toronto

On cask at C’est What. Pours a murky rusty brown with thin light tan head. Aroma is mild with light roast, chocolate and hints of dark fruit. Flavour is fairly chocolatey, with brown sugar, some dark fruit, roast, wood and a little alcohol. Virtually no carbonation. Was disappointed at first but came around to regard this as decent. Cask : a hazed dirty amber ale with a thin off white head. In aroma, sweet caramel malt with strawberry notes, sweet and cloying, butterscotch, OK. In mouth, a sweet caramel malt with light grassy hops, scotch character, OK. Cask at c’est what beer fest. barncatmatt (2355) - Cambridge, Ontario, CANADA - SEP 22, 2011
on cask at the 2011 brewers inspiration party. nice dark red with a tan head. big malty nose. semi sweet malt forward flavour. spot on old ale, not overly exciting. JB84 (652) - Kitchener, Ontario, CANADA - APR 20, 2011
Pour murky mahogany. Aroma quite boozy, cardamon, cinnamon, lots of spices. Taste very boozy, tons of spice, cinnamon, cardamon, some rye. MF pretty big thick body. Solid brew this was a beast. Sammy (12995) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - APR 16, 2011
UPDATED: MAY 6, 2011 Passable experiment. One of their five beers on the previous night, had at Grambinus. Black body wth a nice head. Sourish fancy brown beer with a dry finish. Gets bitter and drier as it warms.
