500ml bottle. Deep copper with thin white head. Complex aroma includes half-cooked bread dough, wood smoke, dark fruit, caramel, leather, green hops, vanilla, toffee. Light sour/heavy bitter, edibly thick and robust. Hearty, like a country meal. Meat and potatoes with some spice. Crisp, sharp bitter bite to the finish. Next to no carbonation. Shades of Yorkshire fields.

500 ml bottle from LCBO. Another very interesting beer by GLB. Pours an amber colour with a thin off white head. Full bodied, even at just 4.7%. Aromas of nuts, fruits. Very good.

Bouteille 500ml.

Poured from 500mL bottle a clear reddish amber with frothy beige 2 finger head. Aroma is sweet caramel malts, grassy and slightly resinous hops, and a little fruitiness (pear?) in the background. Medium bodied and slightly syrupy on the palate with mild carbonation. The taste is sweet with hop bitterness on the finish. Both sweet and bitter last a long time. Overall, fairly drinkable, but unremarkable.

Bottled sample at ribeye jacks. Pours amber with minimal head that dissipates quickly. Large caramel toffee and malt flavour. Nice and bubbly. Great aftertaste ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

A very solid ale. Hops are most evident in the mouth. A little more aroma would be beneficial. A fine addition to the Ontario craft brewing scene.

Draught @ Winking Judge. Deep amber with small off-white head. Grapefruity hop aroma is subtle, not in your face. Smooth, balanced, quaffable with low carbonation. Solid malts and hops both. Pretty nice but thins out in the finish a lot.

In short: An earthy and hoppy amber ale. Good stuff.
How: Bottle 500ml from matt7215, thanks a lot Matt. Consumed very fresh, bottling date October 03 2008, drank 12 days later (October 15 2008).
The look: Clear amber body topped by a medium beige head with medium retention
In long: Intriguing nose, very hoppy for a so-called amber ale with lots of perfumy flowers citrus. Taste has a good amount of earthy caramelized despite a rather light body. Fresh red fruits and even a hint of pineapple. The perfumy note of the aroma translate into earthy leafy hops in the taste with a slight dark tea and green tea flavour. Hopping is actually reminiscent of a ESB but with a dirtier caramelized body. Nice beer. But calling a beer Plowmans Ale up here in the snowy north is not really appealing, its like calling a beer the Dentists Ale in England.
