500 mL bottle from the LCBO, served in an English pint. Pours clear amber with a small, off-white head. The head slowly fades to a thin remnant and leaves a small amount of fine lace. On the nose, there are big notes of caramel and biscuit, along with touches of nuts, Cascade and earth. The flavour starts out moderately sweet, with notes of caramel, nuts and earth. It soon acquires a subtle piney hoppiness which grows towards a long, slightly bitter finish. On the palate, it is medium in body, with a slightly dry texture and soft carbonation. Overall, a decent pale ale. Nowhere near as hoppy as the typical American example, but a very pleasant brew. Straightforward, well made and quite sessionable. 2011-10-03 Freaky_tiki (1223) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - JAN 25, 2014
Pours lumber brown with a nice one finger sticky cap. Aroma is punch in the mouth pale ale. I’m a little confused by the sour reviews below me. This a damn fine APA with deep veined malting & flowering hops in the finish. You could do a lot worse. If this were wrapped in a more urbane label the beer hipster indie rock crew would be all over this. Will grab more. Listigovers (1162) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - SEP 21, 2015
Pleasant floral hop aroma with notes of caramel. Gold and sparkling, leaves a continuous lace on top. Flavor is grassy, moderately bitter, a bit resiny, very dry malts. Medium bodied with a good dry aftertaste. Really nice beer, hearty but easy to drink, I’ll be buying more this fall! JesseM (1158) - Margaritaville, Ontario, CANADA - AUG 19, 2011
UPDATED: AUG 25, 2011 500mL bottle from the Lickbow. Pours a nice gold with a large beige head. Loads of characteristic GRB malts on the nose with some very nice citrusy hop aspects around it. Flavour is great, like a combo of the Galt Knife malt body and Plowman’s hop profile. Biscuity GRB malts with an awesome prickly hop bite that lasts well into the finish and aftertaste. Mouth-feel is somewhat light. A very well done, simple and satisfying pale ale from an awesome brewery. Tessic (1146) - Brantford, Ontario, CANADA - DEC 6, 2012
UPDATED: JAN 30, 2016 This IPA poured a cloudy medium amber colour with a soapy, white head. To the nose there are scents of grass, citrus, earth and hay. First sip was slightly watery with flavours of grass/citrus hopps, hay and cereal. Finish is bitter with grassy hop flavour lingering. For Christ sakes Grand River, back off on the hops....

I tried this beer in August 27,2011 after purchasing from the Queen’s Quay LCBO outlet in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The beer poured a translucent amber colour with a long lasting light tan head. The aroma is fresh caramel, floral hops, and grass. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with medium carbonation. The flavour is caramel, with citrus and yeasty hints in the background.
500ml bottle. Pours an average size foamy off-white head and has a clear light amber appearance. Thick patchy lacing. Aromas of mild citrusy and grassy hops. Flavours are mainly bready malts and piney and grassy hops. Hammy78 (973) - Dundas, Ontario, CANADA - OCT 16, 2011
Bottle purchased at the Dundurn LCBO. Pours copper copper colour with a white head. No lacing. Smells like candy, almost bubblegum really. Tastes quite sweet and a tiny bit bitter. Interesting brew. bunget (965) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - OCT 13, 2015
500ml bottle from LCBO. Slightly hazy golden body, medium white head with poor retention. Aroma of wormwood, yeast, dough, some dusty grains. Taste of grapefruit zest, some sour grapes, yeast, herbs. Good.
