COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The Pugnascious is designed to be a very simple ale. A combination of pale malt, crystal and 4 strikes of cascade hops in significant quantities - in true US pale ale tradition. Not rocket science but no beer is.

500ml bottle from the LCBO. Deep amber with small white head. Caramel and hay in the nose. Sweet toasted malt with a hint of bitterness. Medium slick body. Short finish. Good but i was expecting more bite from something called Pugnacious.

Pours near-clear copper-bronze, minimal head. Aroma is led by the grainy malts - almost a pilsner-esque character to it. Taste is similar with mild malt sweetness cut by pretty persuasive bitterness. Not too much hop aromas. A little fruityness at the end, with a little caramel.

Rusty reddish hazy pour with a nice clingy white head. Draft at Gigs in London. Somewhat weak scent of citrus and fresh cut grass. Wet and refreshing. A bust of flavours at first that slowly mellows to almost nothing in the finish. It has just a touch of that pale ale bite right in the middle. Very subtle despite the name. Best beer I’ve had so far tonight.

500 ml bottle from LCBO. Pours light amber in colour, small head, but tonnes of lacing. Not much aroma (like all GR beers) and taste if somewhat bitter. Not an impressive APA. Missed the mark here (first time).

UPDATED: JUL 25, 2012 Cask at VanKleek Hill. Oktoberfest.. The color is amber with a thin beige head. The aroma is of fruits and malt. The taste much the same plus hops and a vegy taste added.Nice finish in the mouth.

wilderthanyou (758) - Guelph, CANADA - OCT 18, 2011
Pours a hazy deep gold with a thin white cap. The aroma is citrusy, malty, candy orange, good. The flavour starts out with a harsh hop bitterness, but then quickly moves onto a light refreshing mingle of malt and hop, and then ends with some grapefruit bitterness. Finish is a bit soapy. It does a few things bad, but it does most things well. Decent brew.

Pour copper orange with short white head. Aroma of sweet caramel, cereal grain, light citrus hops, pale malt. Taste caramel, sweet grain, citrus, nice hop kick. MF medium body fine fizzy carb. Very well brewed to style quite tasty very easy drinking well done exactly what I expect based on description.

Cloudy golden color with lots of activity. Weak creamy white 1 finger head, lasting around 5 minutes, but with thick legs. Flavors of caramel, lemon, pineapples, grapefruits, apples, melon, sweet grains, floral and herbal spices. Moderately sugary tropical fruits with sharp citrus bitterness. Slick medium body with crispy carbonation. Strong finish, astringent tongue feels with notes of clove, ending quite dry with a slightly earthy and dense leafy feel of hops. Interesting mouth feel, not too excessive but still bold, quite complex and long lasting. Very tasty, really enjoyed the quality of the fruit flavors and the freshness is good. Generally feels like a toned down soft IPA with more malts and a good kick. Overall very good quality craft.

Bottle. Orange-amber colour, creamy head. Aroma of bready malts. Taste is well-balanced, slight woodiness, bitter finish. Like the description says, simple and straightforward, but quite well done.
