Dark red - brown beer. Little brown head. Quite a light palate for an Impy. Mild carbonation. Smooth dark malt with a touch of roast. Nicely tangy. Subtle well integrated fruits. Trace of chocolate. All very well joined up. The whole bottle vanished! Very drinkable.

Bottle at ChrisO "I’m Trying to see the Stool" pre GBBF2010 tasting. Black thin beige head. Decent impy stout. OK tar. Good drinkability. At least it tastes of an impy stout instead of all those rubbish Cigar City things..... mcberko (18434) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - AUG 17, 2010
500mL bottle, pours black with a thin beige/tan head. Aroma of dark roasted malts, chocolate, espresso and some smoke. Flavour is quite smoky, with burnt roasted malts at the forefront, and a lingering peaty finish. Solid. Oakes (18209) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - MAR 23, 2014
Cloudy chestnut with a little bit of head. Both molasses and vague spice (cinnamon?) are present in the aroma. Rich, full-bodied and with lots of spice, but also yeasty. The malts are muddled and while the rich fruitiness is appreciated the roast is harsh like burnt espresso and the alcohol not strong enough to take the edge off the sweetness.
