Bottle thanks to Matt7215. Pours an expected dark brown with medium tan head. Aroma of roasted malt, spices, smoke, and coffee. Flavor matches well, but has a certain taste that I have been getting from all of these Grand Rivers. Pretty decent brew and very drinktable, especially as it warms up from fridge temp.

Pours black with beige head that sticks around and leaves lots of lacing. Perfect balance of sweetness and bitterness. Medium almost oily texture gives it a great feel on a tongue. Bit of a coffee and smoky notes, but toned down. Aroma of roast malts.

Caned. Thick opaque black body, thick and even brown head. The aroma is chocolate, cherry, roasted malt. The taste is cherry and coffee with a long lingering red-wine finish.

Appearance: Pours a dark brown, borderline black body with a decent if not conservative tan head. Looks good. Smell: Cocoa, coffee without the bitterness and a little sweet but everything is on the down-low though, even at a warmer temp. Taste: Some bitter coffee, burnt a little with a small sour twinge. Tastes a little like watery coffee with. Not very imperial. Mouthfeel: A bit thin & watery in the palate with low carbonation. It is smooth in a way but the beer feels unbalanced somehow. Straight black pour, lightly tan head. Aroma is sweet, chocolatey, fruity - lots of cherry scent, light orange liqueur. Taste is nice but not really "imperial" in intensity - chocolate, cherry, lactose, earthy notes. A bit dry in the finish. Satisfying, but don’t expect anything earth-shattering.

473 ml can. Black, with a thin beige head. Roasted malty aroma with coffee and chocolate, notes of fruits. The flavour is sweetish roasted malty, with licorice, coffee and smoky notes. A little alcohol warmth in the finish. Tasty.

Pours black with a beige head that laces the glass. Aroma and flavour are chocolate, coffee, with carmel malts. Good balance of bitter and sweet with a full body. Well done.
