COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Bitch Creek perfectly balances big malt sweetness and robust hop flavor for a full bodied, satisfying mahogany ale. Like the stream for which it is named, our Bitch Creek ESB is full of character... Not for the timid.

Pours an awesome translucent deep garnet. A nice finger high tan head slowly shrinks to leave a small cap on the beer that leaves behind lacing all down the glass. Brown sugar, a bit of bread and tons of caramel hit the nose. Taste is rich malt, a lot of toffee flavors coming through. A good hit of coffee comes in towards the end, while being balanced out by some citrusy hops. This is a malt forward beer, balanced wonderfully by the fairly high IBU for the style. This stands out as an American Brown/Amber instead of an ESB. This is a great beer that is extremely drinkable with it’s 6.5% ABV and 54 IBU. A great place for someone looking to start with craft beer, or a very pleasant American Amber/Brown.

From Nov 2005 Poured from the bottle a deep brown colour with a medium sized head that dissipated quickly leaving only a fine lacing around the edge of the glass. The smell is a nice mix of hops and malt with a sweeting caramel smell that was probably the dominant note for me. The taste is very well balanced and hits my taste buds just right. Sweet caramel tones in the malt with just a touch of bitterness with the hops. Good stuff!!

12oz bottle @ home. Pours deep mahogany with ruby edges. Large creamy white head with good lacing. The nose is roasted malt and nuts with dark, dried fruit. The flavors start out the same way, roasty flavors, raisins, malt, then changes personality to hoppy bitterness. Finishes hoppy as well. Interesting take, tasty.

Draft at Ben’s tune up. Pours dark brown with a thick khaki head. Leaves a lot of lacing in the glass. Fairly malty on the nose and tongue. There’s some pine bitterness on the tongue which adds some complexity. Finished clean.

Pours auburn from the bottle. Tan, creamy head and sticky lacing. Nice. Aroma is apple, caramel, a bit floral. Taste is mildly bitter with strong roasted notes. Finishes the same but with mild notes of apple, green tea, nuts, and a light warmth. Body is medium. Nice!

12 oz bottle served in a Belgian snifter. Pours very dark for style: near opaque black-red-brown body topped by a thin beige colored head. Limited retention with spotty lacing. A bit of sediment on the bottom of the bottle. Nutty, yeasty and bready aroma with hints of pine and citrus. Mild bitterness with a somewhat nutty flavor; bold for style. Smooth medium body with medium-light carbonation.

C-. Pours a clear brown color with khaki head. Not bad, but way too bitter for a brown

Poured from 12 oz bottle into pint glass. A 1" cream colored head falls slowly with plenty of lacing. Color is deep coppery-brown. Aroma of pine, citrus, caramel and rich roasted malt. Flavors of caramel, molasses, toasted bread, ripe fruit, citrus. A very well balanced brew with the hops and malt both making their presence felt. Delicious.

The aroma is awesome and filled the room. Nice plum and other fruit hints. The appearance is a dark brown with a thin cream head and nice lace. The taste is nice and smooth. Overall a nice beer.
