COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our Double Vision Doppelbock is brewed with Idaho 2 row pale and German Munich, Caraaroma, Caramunich, and de-husked Carafa malts to an original gravity of 24 Plato. The malts provide a dark leather color with ruby notes, a luxurious tan head, and a bready aroma with a hint of smoke and fermented with lager yeast from a monastery brewery near Munich.

Bottle, 2015 vintage. Rich caramel malt aroma with notes of toffee, bourbon, vanilla, bread and a little bit of smoke. Pours dark caramel colored with a thin light brown head that has little retention and no lacing. Starts with sticky sweet caramel and toffee malt flavors with a little bit of bready malt in there as well. Finishes very smooth with excellent bourbon, vanilla and smoke flavors and also has just a little bit of booze at the end. Very nice!

Bottle from Boise Co-op. Pours out a silky smooth dark brown with a small ring of head. Dark, roasty malts, slight bourbon aroma. Taste is super smooth, slides over the tongue. Roast malts, brown sugar chocolate, wood. Alcohol warmth comes in late and lingers. Excellent!

11.2 oz bottle shared with Tmoney99 and the Nine Giant crew. Pours a dark cola brown color with a small beige head. The aroma and flavor have dark fruits, figs, caramel, toffee, bourbon, vanilla, wood, some bready character, a slight vinous note, very good.

From a 75 cl bottle, vintage 2015. Pours a hazy dark mahogany with a thin tan head. Aroma of bourbon and oak. Flavors of bourbon, vanilla and pit fruits, with a hint of chocolate. Medium bodied. Smooth finish.

On tap at Hops and Pie poured a clear dark reddish brown with a small lasting tan head. Aromas of bourbon, caramel, oak and light fruitiness. Palate was light to medium bodied and smooth with a dry finish. Flavors of caramel, toffee, brown sugar, bourbon and light oak with a smooth dry lingering brown sugar finish.

On tap at Hops & Pie. Brown appearance with a tan head. Aroma of bourbon, vanilla, toasted oak, mild caramel/toffee and light chocolate. Similar flavor, rich, smooth and malty with bourbon barrel complexities. Medium to full body with soft carbonation. Wow, pretty nice overall.

12 ounce bottle. The beer is a dark brown with a beige head of foam. Good head retention. The aroma has fig, musty wine, vanilla and chocolate. Sweet and moderately boozy taste. Big body and medium carbonation.

Dark brown pour. More barrel than doppelbock, though the base doesn’t quite hit the style either. Sweet, boozy, light breadlines under the barrel. Pretty good.

Shared 2015-750 ml. bottle poured to snifters showing a fairly clear, mahogany color, with a bubbly layer of tan foam, and spots & streaks of lacing. The nose was toasted, slightly roasted, with a touch of cocoa, caramel, some spice, ripened dark fruit, barrel/oak, subtle vanilla, and lurking bourbon presence. The taste was similar, medium+ bodied, with fair carbonation that gradually softened, warmth, moderate, earthy & tannic bitterness, and finishing dryness. BB advanced the base notes, but the cellaring took a little of the edge off, imo.

On tap pours out dark brown almost black topped with a tan head. Nose is great bourbon barrel vanilla chocolate and pit fruit. Taste is more of the bourbon barrel vanilla roast some pit fruit and nice one.
