COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our Double Vision Doppelbock is brewed with Idaho 2 row pale and German Munich, Caraaroma, Caramunich, and de-husked Carafa malts to an original gravity of 24 Plato. The malts provide a dark leather color with ruby notes, a luxurious tan head, and a bready aroma with a hint of smoke and fermented with lager yeast from a monastery brewery near Munich.

From a Howler at Liquor Shed. $ 13. 99 Pours a dark brown with a smallish tan head of foam. Very little lacing. Malty almost roasty malt aromas mixed in with the Bourbon Barrel aging. I dig how much of the base beer shines through in the smell. The taste? I reckon aboot 50-50 ratio between the malt and Bourbon and that pleases me so much. Bourbon Barrel Aged Doppelbock? I doubt that it could have been done any better. High end of medium bodied, not too much carbonation to get in the way. Splendid job, Grand Teton!

Vintage 2008 Decided to crack one, just because. Pours a nice dark coffee brown with no translucency and a solid sheet of candy toffee foam. Smells of graham, toasted malts, cola, brown sugar, toasted pecans and some bits of sugarcane. Flavor follows suit with good thick caramel, graham cracker, figs and raisins, and a good dose of turbinado. Full bodied with loose, soft carbonation and a semi dry finish. Nice beer, glad I bought so many when I discovered this thing three years ago. Serving type: bottle 10-02-2012

Big rich creamy and sweet reallly says it all. Typical look of a doppel. Aroma of chocolate butter roast malt and some alcohole full rich palate lingers. A good drinking beer but the growing sweetness would limit me to no more than 1

Tap @ Bittercreek Boise: Pours a dark mahogany color with light head. The nose is so malty and smooth; pounds of plum and almond notes with more melanoidins and caramelized goodness than you can shake a candy cane at. The bourbon comes through as well to help deliver this massive amount of poly-saccharides to your palate in a pleasing manner. Giant body and lots of bourbon and vanilla notes to complement the already delicious doppelbock. Very well done.

This beer was excellent. I wasnt a big fan of the regular bottled version of the Double Vision, with its big soy sauce taste. But this has a big bourbon taste, and the the thick creamy texture overrides all, The heat from the alcohol was present but not overwhelming. Very drinkable very delicious!
