COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our Double Vision Doppelbock is brewed with Idaho 2 row pale and German Munich, Caraaroma, Caramunich, and de-husked Carafa malts to an original gravity of 24 Plato. The malts provide a dark leather color with ruby notes, a luxurious tan head, and a bready aroma with a hint of smoke and fermented with lager yeast from a monastery brewery near Munich.

Draft at Stone Oakquinox 2010. Pours a dark brown, tan head. Sweet dark malt, caramel, vanilla, notes of dark fruit, oak, and bourbon. Good, but not among my favorite.

This beer was excellent. I wasnt a big fan of the regular bottled version of the Double Vision, with its big soy sauce taste. But this has a big bourbon taste, and the the thick creamy texture overrides all, The heat from the alcohol was present but not overwhelming. Very drinkable very delicious!

From tap at Monks Kettle. Pours dark brown with a small, dense, creamy and tan head, Nice minimal lacing on the glass. Aroma is dark malty and mild bourbon like. Dark roasted malt flavoured with a distinct chocolate note and vanilla flavours. Mild bourbon note into a dry malty finish.

On nitro at the brewery! Pours a dark brown color with a medium sized soapy tan head. Aroma is bread, smoke, caramel. Flavor is again bread, prune, caramel, light bourbon. Palate is medium to full bodied, medium carbonation, finished on the sweet side. Another great example of barrel aging, nice stuff indeed!!

Draft. Nitro. Mahogony beer with a tan nitro head. Bourbon and light nuttiness in the aroma with light cocoa. Bourbon and malt flavor with big caramel. Medium bodied. Sweet caramel lingers with bourbon and a light nuttiness.

On Nitro @ TFD Boise - Pours a beautiful dk amber with a frothy beige nitro head...aroma is massive bourbon, vanilla, wood, molassas, roasty grain...flavour is similar, sweet and rich, more oak, roasted nuts, sweet bourbon vanilla...creamy and rich in the mouth, fantastic stuff!

On tap at the Bistro Barrel Aged Fest. Hazy dark brown in color, or "dark leather" as the brewery calls it, with a small tan head and some lacing. Aroma is very malty and somewhat sweet with caramel, roast, bourbon, and wood. Flavor is pretty awesome. Fairly sweet with loads of caramel malt, toffee, bourbon, nuts, wood, vanilla, roast, and a little bit of smokiness. Very complex, even more so than the standard Double Vision that I think is a great beer, and also balanced. Palate is smooth and fairly creamy with medium-plus body. I like this stuff a lot. This brewery is really great when they want to be.
