On Tap at PreFunk Boise. Great caramel malty aromas. Some bourbon flavors but mostly the smooth boozy caramel brown malts. Very smooth and tasty. williamstome (1863) - Somerville, Massachusetts, USA - DEC 27, 2016

From a Howler at Liquor Shed. $ 13. 99
Pours a dark brown with a smallish tan head of foam. Very little lacing.
Malty almost roasty malt aromas mixed in with the Bourbon Barrel aging. I dig how much of the base beer shines through in the smell.
The taste? I reckon aboot 50-50 ratio between the malt and Bourbon and that pleases me so much. Bourbon Barrel Aged Doppelbock? I doubt that it could have been done any better.
High end of medium bodied, not too much carbonation to get in the way.
Splendid job, Grand Teton! harrymel (1551) - Spokane, Washington, USA - DEC 5, 2013
Decided to crack one, just because.
Pours a nice dark coffee brown with no translucency and a solid sheet of candy toffee foam. Smells of graham, toasted malts, cola, brown sugar, toasted pecans and some bits of sugarcane. Flavor follows suit with good thick caramel, graham cracker, figs and raisins, and a good dose of turbinado. Full bodied with loose, soft carbonation and a semi dry finish. Nice beer, glad I bought so many when I discovered this thing three years ago.

Big rich creamy and sweet reallly says it all. Typical look of a doppel. Aroma of chocolate butter roast malt and some alcohole full rich palate lingers. A good drinking beer but the growing sweetness would limit me to no more than 1

Draft @ FoBAB 2009, Chicago, IL. Pours a dark brown color with a small off-white head. Has a sweetish malty caramel and weak bourbon aroma. Sweetish malty caramel, toffee and dark fruit flavor with hints of bourbon and vanilla. Has a sweetish malty caramel and toffee finish with hints of oak. Nitro tap. Very dark mahogany pour with a gray-ish head. Aroma of fruit and caramel. Full smooth body. Rich doppelbock taste with bourbon. Excellent. BückDich (5464) - McCall, Idaho, USA - SEP 9, 2010
Tap @ Bittercreek Boise: Pours a dark mahogany color with light head. The nose is so malty and smooth; pounds of plum and almond notes with more melanoidins and caramelized goodness than you can shake a candy cane at. The bourbon comes through as well to help deliver this massive amount of poly-saccharides to your palate in a pleasing manner. Giant body and lots of bourbon and vanilla notes to complement the already delicious doppelbock. Very well done. Snojerk321 (2960) - San Diego, California, USA - APR 26, 2010
Tap @ Stone Oakquinox. Aged in Heaven Hill Bourbon Barrels. Pours a deep reddish brown with a small beige ring. Faint bourbon notes along with raisins and other dried fruits. JohnnyJ (5545) - San Diego, California, USA - APR 23, 2010
Draft at Stone Oakquinox 2010. Pours a dark brown, tan head. Sweet dark malt, caramel, vanilla, notes of dark fruit, oak, and bourbon. Good, but not among my favorite.
