3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
UPDATED: JUL 25, 2016 Very floral smelling and tasting beer. Apricot seems to taste a little like the dried version. Sweetness hit in an out of place way sort of. Not bad just not so much my thing. Popular with the missus. Serving: Tap
Draft sample from JL Beers in Grand Forks. Gold in colour with strong carbonation. Aromas are of apricot, lemon peel, flowers, and a touch of white bread dough. Arpicot is the dominant flavour as well, backed by notes of pilsner malt, savory herbs, and a bit of marshmallow. Slightly off dry on the palate, but in a very balanced way that keeps it refreshing. I was surprised to learn that the alcohol was so high, as it’s quite the easy drinker. Savvy1982 (1706) - Lethbridge, Alberta, CANADA - FEB 24, 2012
Draft at JL Beers in Grand Forks, ND. Pours a deep and cloudy gold, with a thin and persistent white head, great lacing. Nose is apricot, yeast, apple, quite pleasant, with lots of apricot. Flavours are rich, and slightly sweet. Nice DuPont-like yeast note, apricot, ginger, fig newton, tea, remarkable little brew. jcwattsrugger (12420) - Florida and, New Jersey, USA - FEB 17, 2012
on tap @Monks SD Beerfest-pours cloudy gold with an offwhite head that laces. Aroma is soft fruit, light/medium malt. Taste is light/medium malt-bready, spice hops. phaleslu (10247) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - JAN 12, 2012
Draft at The Bridge, from notes. It was surprising to see this special edition there, but that place really gets some good Grand Teton stuff- which is nice because STL seems to be seeing fewer GT bottles for some reason. Pours a cloudy gold color with a small white head that leaves some lace. Aroma of apricot, bright, subtle farmhouse funk, straw, bread, grains. Flavor has more apricot than the nose, with sweet malts, faint funk, mild spices, grassy hops, and bread. Light-medium bodied, with a sweet, dry mouthfeel and medium carbonation. Nice.

Draft @ Monkey Paw: deep hazed apricot-orange color, thin swirls of white suds on top. Nose brings the fruitiness of the apricot together with the soft and subtle nuances of the yeast esters, with sublte cobwebby characteristics around the edges. Flavors bring forth more assertive apricot notes, together with saison-like yeast flavors, and some grassy bitterness...slightly astringent in the back of throat...good saison though...the yeast is breezy and light and combines well with the evident fruitiness of the apricot..good, easy drinking, true to style saison. I’m now interested in seeking out the taty cherry version, that sounds fun too.
