Howling Wolf Weisse Bier is an unfiltered Bavarian-style Hefeweizen. Brewed with a hearty amount of wheat, this Weissbier pours a light clouded golden color with a generous head. Gently hopped to balance the malt sweetness, Howling Wolf’s flavors and aromas are subtle with a hint of fruit and spice. At 5% alcohol by volume, this light-bodied ale is a refreshing session beer for any time of year.

I like weisser biers so I was happy with this one lots of good malty flavor smooth easy to drink. Pours a nice hazy golden color with a good head, would recommend.

Poured from bottle to pokal: Hazy golden pear with a wispy white head that fades out to a nice ring. The nose is very yeasty, crisp, sweet banana bread. Fresh smelling. I wish this bottle was fresher, but I can still get a good sense of what it once was - banana, clove, a little bubble gum. Easy drinking.

I enjoy a weisse every now and then. This is pretty average. Would like to have seen a bigger head. The banana flavor was not as strong as compared to other weisse beers. The body was also thin. Would have this again, but I would not seek it out.

Received from The Wolf Public House in Ballwin, MO in a 12oz bottle and poured into a Weizen Glass. Bottled On= 11/24/10

Appearance- Blonde in color and as the farther up you go, the dark the color becomes. Very cloudy as well with 1 finger of head.

Smell- Strong hints of orange and very yeasty

Taste- An extreme dose of the average wheat beer and then a orange/lemon taste.

Mouthfeel- Medium bodied beer and easy flowing throughout the whole drink.

Drinkability- Could recommend this to anyone who is into Wheat/Weizen beers. Much better than other Hefeweizens coming from America. Would drink all night if I wasn’t paying attention.

Pours golden, and cloudy, a nice amount is yeast sediment in the bottle- aroma is yeasty, some banana, maybe some pineapple, basically fruity and nice. Thick and foamy. Light, tart, crisp, slightly unpleasant metallic aftertaste- wonder if that's unique to this glass? Would rate more highly without that. Otherwise, slightly sweet and pretty good. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Wheat and carbonization is what hit me from the start and it finished the same. aroma was fruity and refreshing.

On tap. Hazy golden with a thin white top. Scent is spice and banana. Taste follows.

Pours a half-finger head that quickly dissipates. Pleasant deep golden color. Aroma is crisp and fruity. Carbonation, quickly followed by a light fruitiness; banana peel, slight citrus and coriander. Full, hearty mouth feel. Overall decent but the flavors seem a little watered down.
