COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Howling Wolf Weisse Bier is an unfiltered Bavarian-style Hefeweizen. Brewed with a hearty amount of wheat, this Weissbier pours a light clouded golden color with a generous head. Gently hopped to balance the malt sweetness, Howling Wolf’s flavors and aromas are subtle with a hint of fruit and spice. At 5% alcohol by volume, this light-bodied ale is a refreshing session beer for any time of year.

(12oz bottled 9/23/10 thanks to ericandersnavy) clearish gold, few bubbles. Nose of coriander, huge banana saltwater taffy. Taste of wheat, banana, bubblegum, old grain. Linger of old banana extract. Not good.

Thanks to ericandersnavy for sharing this bottle. The beer pours a hazy light yellow color with a white head. The aroma is wheat, grain and bananas, about what I expect in the hefeweizen. The flavor is more of the same. I get a lot of wheat and banana notes with some clove mixed in. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation. This tastes and smells like a hefeweizen should, but something about it doesn’t sit that well with me. Decent, but not one of the better Grand Teton beers I have had.

From a bottle. Pours cloudy gold with a fizzy white head. Tastes like wheat, creamy, sweet lemon. Light/medium body and low carbonation. Smells like wheat, musk, and very faint citrus.

Bah, tons of off flavors in this wheat beer. Completely wrong. Some spice in there

bottle. deep golden with small head. no haze at all. there’s some light wheat, but i sure don’t detect anything i’d identify as a hefeweizen. well below average.

On draft at Durty Nellie’s, poured a light golden yellow color, aromas of light wheat, banana, and some clove. Flavors of tart banana, wheat, light clove, crisp and refreshing, light carbonation.

Flavor is definitely there, but the appearance is lacking. A good weizen should have a thick, fluffy head. This does not. Aroma and taste are spot on, taste(banana and bubblegum)is a little sweeter than the German native varieties A good effort, but a little ways to go.

Fr0m the b0ttle this p0ured a fairly clear yell0w/g0ld b0dy with l0ts 0f bubbles and a 3-fingered head. The ar0ma was very bready, d0ughy, and yeasty. It tasted lightly lem0ny with raw bread d0ugh and light fresh fruit. It finished dry and quietly tangy. 0kay as a quencher, but n0t interesting en0ugh t0 pursue further.

On tap. Hazy yellow with a fizzy white head. Faint banana bread aroma and taste with an earthy malty finish.

Tap @ bittercreek: hazy blonde, light white head and nice lacing. Nose of fresh pale malt and wheat, light esters with more pronounced banana. Creamy wheaty flavor with a light hoppy finish. Clean and balanced hefe; do I taste decoction?
