On tap; pour is cloudy golden with a modest white head. This brew, frankly, is a disappointment. Mild yeasty notes, citrus, vinousness, Belgian sugars, and light spicy oak. Keyword mild. Light. Subdued. Meh baraciisch (3349) - California, USA - JAN 7, 2011
Interesting beer, if you can call it that... Chardonnay oak aroma... Color is straw yellow... Flavor is initially wheat malts, which gives way to a grape Chardonnay flavor, lingers on palate... Pretty good bb (9697) - Alamo, California, USA - JAN 1, 2011
Draft. Amber beer with a big whitish head. Orange and spice aroma with malt/wheat. Malt and wheat flavor with orange. Medium bodied. Orange lingers with malt/wheat and light spice. badlizard (5533) - Berkeley, California, USA - DEC 8, 2010
Hazy golden with a fluffy white head. Orange pear grape and white wine aroma and taste with a vanilla and mild oak finish. Very good. nickd717 (4841) - San Francisco, California, USA - DEC 2, 2010
On tap at the Bistro Barrel Aged Fest. Cloudy golden-straw pour with a small white head that has decent retention and fades to swirls. The aroma is pretty nice, with big-time chardonnay and oak, along with Belgian yeast, citrus, and spice. The flavor is very chardonnay-like, oaky with a little grape and malt sweetness. Under that is a pretty good witbier with orange, banana, and coriander. Medium-bodied and slightly dry on the palate with a lower level of carbonation. Pretty solid overall. I liked this more than others at the fest did.

draft. hazy gold. spiced nose of clove and banana flavoring syrup - medium phenols, medium to heavy esters, light white grape juice, no trace of oak. mostly unpleasant. chewy approach, fizzy vitamin finish with aspartame and clove dominating. thick, syrupy, sweet, messy.

On tap at Bistro BA Fest poured a cloudy golden yellow with a lasting white head. Aromas of wheat, coriander, yeast, citrus, light white grapes and light oak. Palate was light bodied and crisp with a dry finish. Flavors of wheat, yeast, citrus, coriander, light white wine and light oak with a crisp dry lingering citrus finish. phaleslu (10553) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - NOV 16, 2010
Draft sample at FOBAB 2010. Pours a cloudy yellow-gold color with a small white head, and looks a lot like the regular Tail Waggin. The barrel notes come through in the form of white wine grapes and some Chardonnay-like alcohol; otherwise, it is similar to the regular one: wheat, lemon citrus, yeast, honey, bready malts, and coriander. Light-medium bodied, with mild carbonation and a white wine mouthfeel. Nice wit. bhensonb (15621) - Woodland, California, USA - NOV 14, 2010
On tap at the Bistro BA festival. Pours hazy gold with white head. Mild oaky aromas. Flavor is lightly oaky. I.M.H.O. it’s a bit grapey with some hoppy and oaky notes. Nice. IndianaRed (4941) - Boise, Idaho, USA - NOV 2, 2010
On tap at Brewforia. Hazy golden with a full white puffy head. Soft fruity aroma with peaches and apples. Tart pale flavors with light spice and a little funkiness. Very lively and light bodied. Fades fast and the Chardonay character is a nice compliment. I’d like to try the non-barreled version side by side with this.
