(750ml bottle thanks to bu11zeye) clear rich Espresso brown, soapy tan bubbles. Nose of extremely rich espresso, biscotti, cream, smells complex and awesome. Taste of stale coffee, bakers chocolate, medium to thin body, very dry, unsweet brownies. DuffMan (10608) - the land of bitumen, beef & beer, Alberta, CANADA - SEP 10, 2012
Bottle, shared with Parksy and Grippitis. Very dark brown, medium light brown head. Delicious aromas of dark roast coffee, toasted coconut, hints of vanilla. Coffee flavour, bitter roast, light vanilla, light licorice. Bitter and balanced. Very enjoyable. 50belair (3680) - Florida, USA - SEP 2, 2012
Dark brown pour with a fleeting off white head. Thin and bitter with black coffee and bitter hoppy notes... burg326 (5596) - Florida, USA - AUG 29, 2012
22 ounce bottle pours a black color, aromas of light coco, light vanilla, and huge amounts of coffee. Flavors are cold black coffee with a kiss of vanilla added. Nice beer overall, could easily drink this first thing at a tailgate.

Not a bad brew. Nothing special though. Left me wanting a little more. No creaminess to this brew... hopscotch (11182) - Vero Beach, Florida, USA - AUG 21, 2012
Bottle… Midnight black ale with a mid-sized, lightly tanned head. Good retention. The nose supplies ample notes of espresso, cocoa and scorched malts with a subtle kiss of vanilla. Medium to full-bodied and creamy with moderate carbonation. The flavor provides lots of coffee and cocoa layered upon caramel and tangy, bitter hops. Finishes nutty, then a touch tangy. daknole (11050) - Scottsdale, Arizona, USA - AUG 7, 2012
Dark brown pour, brown head. Roasty aroma with lots of char and coffee. Flavor is roasted malt, coffee, some chocolate, and hops. Beerenberger (1605) - Fischer, Texas, USA - AUG 5, 2012
APPEARANCE: Pours an opque black with a tan head and no retention. Lacing noted. AROMA: Coffee, chocolate, and dark fruit greet the nose. TASTE: Rich, somewhat bitter coffee along with notes of dark chocolate. Hop presence minimal. I also detected a brief olive note (???). There is a burnt-bitter afertaste. MOUTHFEEL: This is a full-bodied brew. OVERALL: This is a very good coffee porter. Would definiatly drink again.

Had this on tap today, simply too bitter. I like porters, coffee, chocolate, even smoky, but this just sat wrong. Too bitter, like overly strong espresso.
