Draft at Jerry’s. Black with big, foamy, brown head / Rich nose of lightly sour malt, coffee, chocolate, and smoke / Medium to full body, chewy, hint of sweetness but dry, with excellent balance and bitter finish / Flavors of dark roast coffee, bittersweet chocolate, caramel, smoke, nut, and grass / On dry side, but fine balance and body.

Pours an opaque black with thick tan head. Roasty chocolatey aroma. Big and smooth roasty.

Tastes like a Porter should. Well balanced and hearty. Good coffee undertones. Great on a winter night in front of the pot belly stove. Cold front pushed through in June, so here I’ve switched from IPA back to Porter. Sweet! chinchill (5313) - South Carolina, USA - JUN 7, 2017

Essentially black body with s decent head and good lacing.
Good coffee aroma with dark roasted grains.
Flavor follows with strong finish of coffee, dark grains and spicy hops. Good balance including excellent sweet bitter balance.

750 mL bottle poured, thanks to Dustin. Cool to try this one, after trying the barrel aged version last year. Would prefer to try them in the other order, but that’s cool. Dark, near black pour with a cream foam head. A huge coffee aroma here, as expected. Bitter coffee roast flavor, but doesn’t have a boozy imperial feel to it. Appearance: Deep dark brown. Two fingers of tan foam.
Nose: Deeply roasted malts, coffee, caramel, dark chocolate bitters and roasted nuts
Taste: More of the nose. Coffee, dark chocolate and roasted nuts. Earthy. Touch of sweetness.
Body: Fuller and creamier.
Parting thoughts: A big coffee porter. Breweries are doing well incorporating local coffee roaster’s premium products into beer. I would love to see this continue.

750 ml bottle poured into a brandy snifter. The beer is a dark brown to black with a khaki head of foam. The aroma has notes of toffee, roasty coffee, molasses, and bitter dark chocolate. Roasty and moderately bitter throughout. Bigger body and slightly chewy. Moderate carbonation.
