Draught @ Barvolo, Toronto. Pours cloudy very dark brown with airy light tan head. Clear aroma of malt and roast with caramellish notes and hints of fruit. Roasty flavour with notes of coffee and touches of yeast and hints of fruit. Roasty and coffeelike aftertaste. Low carbonation. Smooth, creamy mouthfeel. Decent. chinchill (5449) - South Carolina, USA - JUN 11, 2016
Keefe’s Irish Stout on tap at The Henry House in Halifax where it’s sometimes referred to as "Halifax Guinness".
Medium-light body that’s smooth and well carbonated but seems a bit to thin.
Clear but very dark ruby colored body with a creamy and very durable head.
Hints of smoke and char. No fruit notes. Moderately bitter.
Lasting aftertaste of very dark roasted grains.

Brewpub @ Toronto. Opaque black with thick tan cappucino-like head. Rich coffee nose is smooth and warming, inviting. Hints of hazelnuts too. Thin, quaffable mouthfeel. Dry coffee flavors. Powdery and delightfully dry, my kind of stout. CapFlu (5132) - Victoria, British Columbia, CANADA - DEC 11, 2003
(Draught) Pours a creamy, beige head and a opaque body. Roasted malt and coffee nose. Nice body feel. Tart start, cocoa with a bitter finish. Above average. Dickinsonbeer (5073) - Hoboken, New Jersey, USA - JUL 25, 2009
Nitro (I think ) at Toronto location. Pours a nice deep dark brown almost black with a tight tan head. Aroma is nutty, roasty and green pine, some hops. Flavor is a harsher roast, and becomes a touch astringent, very grassy , herbal and earthy- dirt and mineral. Drying and weakish finish.

Cask pint at the brewpub in Halifax, NS (May 2007). Pours jet with a smallish tan head, just a bit of lacing, looks ok but nothing really out of the ordinary, until....the aroma is FANTASTIC, brimming with quality chocolate, the perfect very light dose of cinnamon, a pinch of hazelnut-infused coffee, sweet and intense and powerfully robust all at once, wow!....on the tongue, the coffee character is subdued, and alas seems a bit stale, it’s all submerged in a somewhat thin, watery body that does manage to keep a reasonable stoutness alive, but doesn’t come close to matching the promise of the transcendant aroma....burnt, dry, a little boring in the end. Man, I want to try it again though, just for that nose. presario (4925) - Stampede City, Alberta, CANADA - NOV 22, 2012
Grey Cup 2012. Sample tray. Nitro. Good roast malt nose. Lots of raostiness in flavour. Soft easy drinking unassuming beer. robinvboyer (4833) - Sturgeon Falls, Ontario, CANADA - MAR 30, 2009
On Tap At Volo
This was a real treat, and a surprise. Deep black pour with a fluffy mocha head. Aroma of roasted malt, touches of coffee, and chocolate, and some really nice sweetness in the form of brown sugar, and maybe some vanilla. The flavor was very satisfying, more oft he brown sugar, vanilla sweetess mixed with the dark roast of the malt, and coffee. A very nice stout! Spab (4306) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - JAN 2, 2011
Growler from the brewpub. Pours a near-black dark brown with a slight orangey tinge and modest-sized mocha head. Aroma is roasty with coffee and a hint of fruit. Flavour is dry and roasty with coffee and some chocolatey sweetness. Lingering dryness in finish. Nice. Nekronos (4248) - Xalapa, MEXICO - SEP 15, 2006
Smelling it, has a really nice roasted grains taste. The foam has some yellowish features, which I like, the taste is a little sweet and like vintaged, it is a good exmaple of the style.
