A very special brew, originally made in honor of the 1,000th batch of beer brewed at our Sioux Falls brewery. Cascade and Summit hops dominate the flavor of this beer, giving intense citrus & pine character.

Beer is a hazy copper color. Very low hop aroma for a double IPA. More malty than a typical DIPA. Overall a very balanced beer. I prefer my DIPA more on the hoppy side.

Draft at Kansas City. Typical double IPA aroma of some pine, citrus, and malt body. Medium bitterness. It was pretty smooth. A decent DIPA.

7.2%ABV. Double IPA. Tapped out deep cloudy amber. 16°SRM. Nose is light and beery. Not much in the way to hop aroma. No bright floral or citrus aromas, mainly sweet wood like cherry. Mouthfeel is relatively light and almost beery with only light soap. Palate is graham cracker, light honey, hint of maple sugar. Hops are woody, pine sap, light resin. Finish is medium with a resinous linger that comes back again. Overall for me not very satisfying. Not quite 2 dimensional but suggests it with sweet and bitter.

Copper color with off white head. Malty with an earthy hop edge for aroma and taste. Standard commercial brewpub beer. Notes: on tap at the restaurant in Zona Rosa KC (Apr ’17)

Dark orange almost red color. Draft at Granite City in Rockford. Pine and fruit aroma. Hoppy and mild bitter, citrus. Better than I expected

Pours a hazy copper body with a one finger foamy beige head. The nose is citrusy hops, with some caramel and toasted malt. Flavor wise, the hop level doesn’t reach DIPA levels in the slightest. This is all about the caramel malt sweetness, which doesn’t really work for me. Medium bodied with a light touch of alcohol, soft fizzy carbonation and a lingering toasted malt finish. Pretty bad try at a DIPA.

Draft at source. Nose is moderate citrus with mostly orange. Light bread in the aroma. Hazy orange with white head that laces well. Taste follows with a medium mouthfeel. Needs more hops in every aspect.

dlovell2 (2213) - Columbia, Maryland, USA - JUN 17, 2016
On tap at National Harbor. Pours amber with an off white head. Aroma is citrus with pine. Flavor is citrus up front with some malt and a bitter pine finish.

B+. Pours a murky amber color with khaki head. Not too bitter, and decent aroma & flavor

darb85 (296) - Canton, Michigan, USA - APR 2, 2016
UPDATED: APR 4, 2016 Pine notes on nose. Clear Amber pour, 1 finger thin head. Strong booze lead. With cedar and grass in the make, dry finish. Not great but not terrible. Not a great example of a dipa

4 oz pour on draft at Granite City National Harbor. Clear golden orange with off-white head. Aromas of citrus, malt, light floral. Tastes of grapefruit citrus, malt, light floral and soapy notes. Medium body with a dry finish.
