On tap in cedar rapids. Pours a thick black, white head. Light aroma for a stout. A lot of roastiness in the flavor, but it’s pretty thin for a stout--almost watery. Dry finish. Meh... User29624 (1683) - - AUG 9, 2009
Out of the sampler I had, this was one of the better beers. Pours black with a thick tan head. Aroma of roasted malt, chocolate. Flavor is the same with a little bit of a nutty flavor as well. Not bad, but nothing amazing. kramer (6682) - Sunbury, Pennsylvania, USA - DEC 25, 2009
On tap, Maumee OH location. Pours a dark brown, almost black., body with a small creamy dark brown nitro head that left some thick lacing. Roasty and dry with a bit of coffee on the nose. The flavor is thin and a little too astringent with a heavy malt bitterness. More like a cold cup of day old coffee than a beer. The mouth feel is thin and nitro’d with a fairly watery finish. Not too much positive to say about this guy, it looked and smelled pretty decent, but it went downhill from there. kambei70 (1070) - - APR 7, 2013
Tried at Granite City Brewery in Kansas City. Part of a flight. Found all of the beers to be watered down and mediocre at best.

Tap. Pours dark black, medium creamy beige head, nice lacing. Aroma is roasty, a bit of rubber. Flavor is light plus sweet, light bitter, lactose. Medium body, creamy. detroiter (958) - Euphoria, Minnesota, USA - JAN 15, 2007
Pours a beautiful deep black with a good two inches of thick tan head. Excellent count-the-number-of-sips lacing. Sadly, I’ve now come to the point where I stop being impressed.
Very mild roasted grain in the aroma. A little bit of coffee in the flavor, but not much. Exceptionally mild taste, it isn’t even going to frighten away the beer novice. Thin body, not much character. This one proves that dark beers aren’t always bold, potent, or bitter.

On tap at Cherry Valley. Not the best stout I’ve had by far but nice roasted chocolate coffee and malt flavors tyler_mn (1475) - SLP, Minnesota, USA - NOV 3, 2007
St. Louis Park location. Chocolate, cocoa and dry malt on the nose. Pours black with a thick khaki head with excellent retention. Flavor reminded me of Guinness Draught. Mostly dry with a hint of malty sweetness. Medium boded and creamy. Lacked depth and complexity.
