Dark red brown color with a thick off white head. There is a light nose displaying hints of coffee and oats. The palate comes across as slightly creamy with notes of milk chocolate and coffee. An OK stout. jamrun (137) - Sioux Falls, South Dakota, USA - JAN 23, 2003
very thick cremmy head, Full malt mouth feel follows with dry burnt tast finnishes with small hop bie Gmku (303) - Baltimore, Maryland, USA - MAY 17, 2004
Not too bad a stout for a mass-consumer brew pub like this. Dark brown to black in appearance, fair amount of head, moderate lacing. Roasty aroma, smoky flavor, just a hint of coffee and chocolate in the flavor. Mouthfeel’s a tad thin for a stout, though. Still, not bad, all things considered. barleyPops (1142) - Quad-Cities, Illinois, USA - APR 29, 2005
on tap. a great looking stout! dark brown with a foamy, creamy head. but this just doesn’t have a lot of flavor. a decent dry finish but nothing here to get excited about. average at best. Tmoney99 (14460) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - JUL 3, 2006
Draft at S.D. location. Black color with an average fizzy brown head that mostly lasted with good lacing. Moderate roasted coffee and chocolate aroma. Medium to full body with a dry creamy texture. Medium roasted sweet flavor with a sweet finish of moderate duration. This is a good drinkable brew and went well with the Asian food I had.

On draught during the Winterfest 2008 in downtown St. Paul, Minnesota. Pours a dark cola brown brew with a thin beige head that quickly dissipates to a fine film and ring. Aroma of light roasted dark malt, a touch of coffee, molasses and some sour cream. Taste is medium bodied, lots of carbonation with flavors of roasted dark malt, some light coffee and chocolate and a touch of vanilla. Finish is semi-dry, a tad sour with a watery and dry malt aftertaste. A little more flavor than Guiness but not much. BOLTZ7555 (3027) - Phoenix, Arizona, USA - MAY 17, 2009
On draft @ brewpub. Dark brown bordering black with a foamy khaki-colored head that left nice lacing after every sip. Aroma is roasted coffee, ash, and cocoa. Flavor is heavy chocolate, toasted malt, and burnt marshmallow. Run of the mill brewery stout. SrSilliGose (3331) - pouring bus, New Brunswick, CANADA - AUG 9, 2009
tricked into going to granite city. tried to keep an open mind about the beer, as it’s from a chain restaurant in the mall. This was better than I expected. pours kind of like a guinness. More roasted malt and chocolate than guinness. very creamy. could have been worse. unclemattie (4358) - Georgia, USA - SEP 19, 2009
Tap. Very dark, black pour. Tan head, very tall and creamy. Light aroma of roast. Flavor has a lot of oats and roast. Bitter finish of fuggles and char. Burnt grains. Very dry. A very good stout. Hints of fruit under all of the burnt flavors. illinismitty (2271) - Nashville, Tennessee, USA - JUN 25, 2010
Draft at East Peoria. Pours black with a beige head. Milky and roasty aroma. Medium bodied with average carbonation, but thin in texture. Pretty basic dry stout with flavors of dark roasted malts and spent coffee grounds.
