I had never heard of this place, but happened to stop in. Tried this stout and was impressed by the chocolate and nuttiness in the aroma and flavor. The next logical step for someone who likes Guiness but hasn’t really tried a lot of micros. DWestrick (858) - Ft Wayne, Indiana, USA - FEB 8, 2008
UPDATED: FEB 16, 2008 Nice stout...had at Granite City in Fort Wayne on tap. dark color and tan head...i enjoyed drinking this beer...will have again. pinkzambia (2111) - Boise, Idaho, USA - DEC 21, 2008
Tap @ Kansas City location: Jet black with a loooooong lasting tan head. Choco-yeasty aroma and the feel is slick like an oatmeal stout. The flavor is like non-sweet chocolate malt balls. the feel is thin. fidelis83 (2535) - Clinton, Iowa, USA - AUG 2, 2009
Pours black with a tall, nitro-creamy tan head that has excellent retention. Aroma is roast, toasted nuts, a little coffee and some char. Flavor is about the same with a little more nutty and coffee character. Palate is a little watery and the carbonation has a little better bite than most nitro beers. Overall it’s not bad, pretty much a Guinness clone with a little less charm. kidmartinek (5007) - austin, Texas, USA - AUG 31, 2009
A black beer with a creamy tan head that lasts as long as you want it to. Coffee, toffee, and thin roasy malt nose. Flavor is bitter and dry and dominated by light cofee and chocolate taste. Texture is smooth and creamy. There is not much of an aftertaste for a beer of this stature, but what is there reminds me of toasty, chocolate malt.

A bit more mild than your average stout. Not as hoppy as I would expect, either. But this one is very smooth, and what it lacks in flavor, it makes up for in refreshment. GodOfThunder (1271) - Orlando, Florida, USA - MAR 5, 2010
Draft at the Kansas City location. Pours thin and black with a white head. Flavor isn’t bad, with malts and cocoa. Overall, not as offensive as some of their other beers. A solid light and thin stout that could be sessioned. jandd1983 (4680) - Wentzville, Missouri, USA - MAR 17, 2011
Sampler at the brewpub. The appearance was a dark brown to black, with a decent amount of head, and moderate lacing. The flavor was a roasty aroma, smoky, and a mild hint of coffee and chocolate. Not a bad stout. shrubber85 (11706) - Greenville, Indiana, USA - MAR 25, 2012
Tap. Chocolate caramel malt aroma. Black with small head. Sweet chocolate malt and moderately bitter grassy hops flavor. Good - on the hoppy side. XmnwildX12 (2079) - Farmington, Minnesota, USA - NOV 25, 2012
Very feint chocolate scents and a small roast. Taste is a tad of chocolate and a bitter coffee roast, light body.
