22 oz mug at the nrwest location (Naperville, ). Pours a well hazed carmelized amber hue, darker hazy middle with some touches of orange glow on the edges. Cakey offwhite head atop stays as a firm thicker layer. Good retention and lacing, but the colors here end up muddled and darker, a bit murky. Aromas are bitter and hoppy, a toasty carmelized jab meets florals, earth and faint resiny pine. Touches of grapefruit and pithy citrus show some rind oils, a bit of toast and bready malts. Initial is medium bodied, a bit firmer with firm hoppy smack. Earth and florals meet soap, some distinct toasty biscuit, bread and crusty bready malts. Faint spice, grainy malts and biscuit. Some nice punchy citrus oils and juice, mellow florals. That biscuity/carmelized feel hits firmest in the middle while at other times that citrusy life jabs firmly. Backend is dry, a bit bitter and floral. Some soap, citrus rind and touches of earth. A bit bready, gentle touches of caramel. Trailing out to some bitter florals and graprefruit. The beer pours a bit ugly overall, the nose delivers some life but overall that firmer malt bill beneath is combated well by the hops but still seems a bit outdated overall. A bit biscuity and toasty instead of the cleaner, session worthy malt profiles that are in today. While itís hop profile does give some decent pop at times and overall I can drink a decent amount, the beer itself just seems a bit played out.. A typical Brewpub Pale. On tap at the Mishawaka location: Pours a transparent dark bronze orange with a stringy-lacing white head. Aroma of fresh juicy grapefruity hops with a touch of pale malt. Body starts with average fullness and light sweetness along with a drier, grassy citric hop bite before a drier more bitter finish. On tap, Maumee OH location. Pours a slightly hazy copper-orange body with a minimal off-white head. Some grapefruity hops over a light caramel malt base on the nose. The flavor is light citrusy and floral hops over a thin caramel malt base. A little sticky and clingy with soft carbonation. Probably the best of the 7 beers that I had that night, but thatís not really saying much.

Tap at Mishawaka "brewpub": Amber hue with a good head and sticky lace. The aroma as notes of resiny and grassy hops, biscuity and caramel malts and a hint of DMS. The taste has clean bitterness balanced by pale and sweet malts, slightly medicinal tones are present. Short and doughy finish. The mouth feel is lively and refreshing. On tap: The aroma consists of light-moderate caramel, fruit, faint citrus, and florals. Itís a hazy amber with a small off-white head that fades to a thin film outlined by a thick ring. There is a thick sheet of lacing left on the sides of the glass. The flavor starts with a quick moderate and a touch of fruit. The finish has light-moderate florals and light pine. On tap at the Schaumburg location. Clear amber appearance with a lacy off-white head. Piney spruce, light hop resin, grass, husky grains, floral notes and herbal hops in the aroma. This was easily the best of the bunch I had at Granite City. Pours copper with a wispy white head. The aroma has grapefruit hops along with toasted caramel malt. Medium / light body with soft carbonation. The hops on the taste is very nice with grapefruit pith and some bitterness. There is a sourness that detracts from the good points as well as some wateriness. An okay beer, but far from balanced.
