Truly a middle of the road beer. Nothing special at all about it, but it’s not exactly offensive, rither. Bland looking with a gold body and a small white head. Aroma is okay, overall sweet. Very light, watery palate. The taste is okay at first. I would decribe it as a bland, somewhat sweet thirst quencher. But there’s a stale, cloying aftertaste that ruins a bit. Meh.

Blind tasted with 5 other pale lagers. Beers were: 1. Dog Tag Legacy Lager, 2. Amber Harde, 3. Granite City The Northern, 4. Rammer Jammer Beer, 5. Amber Johannes, 6. Ale Asylum 12 oz. Curl. All raters rated them 61 345 TIED 2.

355ml bottle, brewed at minhas. Clear pale gold pour. Aroma is spicy and buttery. Flavor is sweet and papery, bit of plastic, not great.

Post tasting thoughts:
I know granite city is a poorer brewpub chain so going to minhas for a contract was a bad decision.

Tap. Pours crystal clear pale golden, small white head, decent lacing. Aroma is grain, hints of corn, grass. Flavors is light sweet, light bitter. Light body. Pretty clean example of a much maligned style

Draft at source. Light malt nose, very clean with no off aromas. A light corn aroma. Crystal clear straw color. Small white head of tiny bubbles. Taste is crisp malt with a light body. Refreshing as a lager can be. Somewhere between a bud light and a bud heavy.

On tap at the Schaumburg location. Clear yellow appearance with a fully dissipating white head and light lacing. Bland, thin and watery with a bit of corny malt sweetness. Tastes like domestic sludge, maybe slightly better.

Meh. Its the requisite craft beer for the non-craft beer enthusiast. Lightly grainy with a some grass and lemony notes. A bit on the dry side. Clear golden with a half finger spotty white head.

Pailhead (6541) - Rochester Hills, Michigan, USA - NOV 13, 2015
On tap: The aroma is pretty minimal with just a hint of straw. It’s a transparent dull yellow with a small white head that fades to a thin film outlined by a slightly thicker ring. There is a thin sheet of lacing left on the sides of the glass. The flavor starts with a very light grain/cereal sweetness. The finish has mild grass/straw. It’s light bodied with light-moderate carbonation. Overall, it’s a really light with nothing offensive going on. I’m sure that was the goal, but hedonistically, it’s a little bland for my tastes.

I’m surprised by this beer since I really don’t like light lagers. This beer had more body and less astringency. It was fairly balanced too. Otherwise, it mimics others in color and aroma.

Sampled from the tap at the St. Cloud location. Pours a clear pale yellow with s white head that dissipates quickly to the edges. Aroma has notes of straw and light grain with a hint of corn. Flavor has a light butterscotch note with sweet grain and a bit of straw.

This one wasn’t offensive but it just didn’t really have any flavor. Maybe wet cracker but that was about it.

On tap in Fargo, pours a clear golden/orange with a thin white head. Sweet malt grain aroma. Bland caramel malt taste. Yep...
