Un-Muzzling Olde Muzzlehatch Ratings, #77. Draught pint at the Rockford, IL location, August 2008 - and a few times since, mostly recently last summer. Served in a pint glass of course - a corporate brewpub investing in proper glassware? HAH!...properly bright, cloudy gold, but not much head...nose of banana and clove, perhaps a bit of cardamom and vanilla, perfectly reasonable but pretty weak...decent enough flavor, on the sweet side but also displaying plenty of wheaty tartness and OK malt extraction...hints of tart cider and alcohol towards the finish, which is a bit on the thin side. If I had to describe most of GC’s offerings over the past few years in general, I’d probably say "competent and without significant flaws but totally forgettable" and this fits that phrase perfectly. deyholla (11496) - Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA - NOV 6, 2015
Sampled from the tap at the St. Cloud location. Pours a clear light gold a white head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has earthy wheat with a light sweetness and a bit of clove. Flavor is similar with earthy wheat and clove as well as a touch of sweetness. BiddleBrau (1220) - Fort Washington, Pennsylvania, USA - APR 14, 2015
On tap at GC Sioux Falls. This is not the summer hefe but the Prairie Vixen which isn?t found on RB. Hazy thin head clove nose faint otherwise. Hefe spice is decent nice body although not as crisp as classics. A bit lighter on overall profile. Strykzone (7305) - Wood River, Illinois, USA - JUN 24, 2012
Sampled at theCreve Coeur location. Unfiltered and hazy with a steady white layer of foam. Spider web lacing. A nose of cloves and wheat. A hint of banana and spice. Those ara all tasted and there is a hint of lemon and some mild bitterness which might be from zest. Refreshing and decent. dwaggs2 (1297) - Jefferson City, Missouri, USA - FEB 5, 2012
Draft from the brewery/restaurant in Kansas City. Not a lot to this beer. Poured a hazy yellow color with a smaller white head. Aroma was buscuit, banana, and malts. Grass, yeast and malts in the flavor. Very thin and weak. Nothing to this beer.

It poured a very cloudy yellow color with a small head. The aroma was of banana and spice. The taste was of the same. The flavor was of a typical hefeweizen, with some hints of banana and wheat, clove and maybe a few other spices. JPDIPSO (6216) - Wauwatosa, USA - NOV 4, 2009
Cloudy straw color with a white thin bubbled head. Mild banana and cloves in the aroma. Some wheat and malt also detected. Fairly light, but slightly sticky. Banana and a touch of tropical fruit also found in the flavors. Bits of cloves in the finish. Passable. drowland (8629) - Georgia, USA - AUG 22, 2009
I hate this place, but when one came to town, I had to try all the beers. They’re all average to bad. padrefan98 (854) - (San Diego) Santee, California, USA - JUL 21, 2009
10th rating. I had this one while spending the night in Fargo. Had a nice 7 sample tasting of Granite City brews. This was a nice hefe. Very little bannana, and some clove. Quite nice actually. GJF (1520) - Mount Vernon, Iowa, USA - JUL 8, 2009
It’s okay. Slight citrus and yeast. Like most granite city, there’s just nothing to it. I’ll say again, it’s okay.
