On tap at Granite Mountain, pours black with a small tan head. Aroma brings out notes of lactose and toasted malt. Flavour is smooth, with lots of lactose and toasted malt in great balance. Milky and creamy on the palate. Very nice stuff. Travlr (27128) - Charlotte, North Carolina, USA - JAN 19, 2016
Draft at the source. Opaque almost black color, thick brown head. Aroma of chocolate syrup. Taste is sweet cocoa powder. Very tasty. Bacterial (3107) - Twin Cities, Minnesota, USA - SEP 30, 2015
Dark black pour at the brewpub. Slight tan head. I’m skeptical based on the other beers I’ve tasted today of the high ratings I see for this beer. Seems to be served warmer than the others (maybe I imagined this since it was the last one I tasted in the flight). Nice roasted malt nose. Smooth, roasted malt, slightly bitter chocolate and hints of roasted coffee. Very good! trilobata (32) - prescott, Arizona, USA - JUL 28, 2015
On top of Granite Mountain brewing. Very well balanced sweetness in this Milk Stout. Nice roastiness and chocolate character are backed up by a well balanced use of lactose. Seadancer (5) - Prescott, Arizona, USA - JUL 26, 2015 does not count
Oh my gosh. This is the first dark stout I hs ever liked, let alone loved. I am impressed with the complexity and richness of flavor without being too heavy and thick on the palate. I am a convert.
