Chocolate and chocolate. From the beginning to the end. With a slight hint of vanilla. Caramel. Not bitter. Medium body. Low carbonation. Not bad, but not my taste. ABV is 5.5%, but not overwhelming.

One of Granville Island's better brews; I've had the 2013 and 2014 release in bottles and on tap. Some caramel and candy sweetness, fruit, a touch of mint it seems. Pretty well balanced, medium-light bodied but lots of flavour. Good for the style and one of Granville's more unique and successful offerings.

Can. Potent chocolate and vanilla aroma that foreshadows a sweet drink. Clear dark brown under a tight, white ring. Sweet vanilla and chocolate flavour with low bitterness. Clean fermentation. Medium body, moderate carbonation, smooth.

Cruzer (103) - St. Albert, Alberta, CANADA - DEC 27, 2014
Pours dark brown, thick head. Malty aroma with chocolate and coffee hints. Flavour of malts, brown sugar, hints of vanilla. I agreee with the other reviews that this could be a stronger beer.

355 ml bottle poured at home. Pours a brownish red with a creamy beige head. Overwhelming chocolate smell. Taste is the same: chocolate with a bit of vanilla. Sweet with a slightly bitter ending. Drinkable.

Eructoblaster (4044) - Gatineau, Quebec, CANADA - DEC 26, 2014
Bottle - 341ml. Pours a dark brown body with a thick, fading, beige foamy head. Its malty aroma carries strong chocolate hints. Wood and coffee are also noticeable. Its well balanced malty/hoppy taste carries roasty, brown sugar, and chocolate notes. Ends with a decent bittersweet finish. Not bad, but could be much stronger.

Looks and pours nice. Low on carbonation, not a big issue. First taste - sweet. Overwhelming chocolate. Was hoping for something more complex, but its just chocolate. Better options out there

UXO (1683) - CANADA - DEC 6, 2014
Pours clear deep amber with one finger of tight light tan head, great retention, excellent lacing. (4/5) Nose is chocolate, caramel malt, vanilla, cinnamon, nutmeg. (6/10) Taste is moderate to strong sweet, mild bitter, mild spice. (6/10) Medium body, somewhat cloying, moderate carbonation, mildly bitter and moderately spicy finish. (3/5) Not bad, but a little on the cloying side. I think its the chocolate in combination with the fairly high sweetness - neither the carbonation nor the spiciness lifts it enough to avoid the cloying description. The spice helps with the winter warmer character, but a little higher ABV might help it more. Pretty, sure, but ultimately a little disappointing. (12/20)
