A dark ruby red porter with a thin light moka head. In aroma, light sweet chocolate malt, and light British hops. In mouth, a nice sweetish chocolate and caramel, with good fragrant hops, coffee notes, medium bodied. Bottle tasted Nov. 27, with GRM and friends. Merci Jean-Sébastien. Bottle. Deep brown beer with a thin tan head. Aroma is pretty nice. Sweet chocolatey nose, a bit of herbal character in addition to the aroma. Flavour is sweet with a light cocoa/coffee flavour. It finishes fairly dry with a lingering toastiness. CapFlu (5132) - Victoria, British Columbia, CANADA - FEB 12, 2009

nice roasty aroma with touches of brown sugar, and some coffee. a smooth creamy mouthfeel, with more roast, and coffee, a nice porter, nothing extraordinary, but solid. tiggmtl (4543) - East York, Ontario, CANADA - FEB 5, 2009
Limited Release 2009 - Sweet and fruity with notes of dates, raisins and brown sugar in the nose. Opaque, dark brown body with ruby highlights is topped by a low tan head that recedes to a thin cover. Sweetness in the mouth suggests chocolate milk. It’s pretty simple but quite tasty. Some of the fruity character appears in the aftertaste. Light balancing bitterness keeps the sweetness from getting too strong or sticky. Medium body with a slightly slick texture and moderate carbonation. Enjoyable... Tulip glass. Cellar temperature. Bottle purchased at the BCLS at Hellsgate in Jan-09.

Deep brown, lasting tan head.Pleasant light roast and brown sugar nose.Light roast and dry malt profile, light bitterness GeneralGao (3614) - Iowa City, Iowa, USA - MAR 9, 2009
Bottle. Poured a dark brown, nearly opaque color with orange highlights. The head was light brown. There was a distinct metallic aroma reminiscent of the way your hands smell after handling a bunch of coins. There was also some chocolate and a bit of roasty malt. Medium bodied and delicately sweet up front. Dry at the end with accompanying roasty bitterness/acidity. The flavor profile included the likes of cola, chocolate, and burnt malt. Improved somewhat after warming up. Gethinbeer (2452) - Nova Scotia, CANADA - MAR 29, 2009
Bottle shared JoeMcPhee. Thank you. Deep ruby colour. Thin brown head with a clinging lace. Rich syrupy ale. Berries in the flavour. Deliciously made porter. Smooth texture and finish of coffee and malts. mgermani (1010) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - FEB 1, 2009
UPDATED: FEB 5, 2009 Pours a dark ruby-brown with a thick, lasting head and completely coating lacing. Aroma is sweet and fruity with notes of fig. Lovely sweet taste, but not disgustingly so. Creamy, buttery, light chocolate, just a hint of alcohol. Decent carb, nice thick body. I am really digging this lovely quaffable porter, and wish it would replace the bland "christmas pudding" porters supplied to local restaurants.
