Limited release 2012
Blond-golden color, with medium sized head. In the aroma there is some sugar, light vegetables, very light rubber. The carbonation is high, and the mouthfeel is smooth; the malt flavor is anonymous, sweetish; instead of the spicy yeasty character of a Saison (and astringency sometimes), there is more of an herbal touch, with rosemary and mint, and again an impression of stewed cabbage; correct bitterness.
One more unachieved American Saison.
650mL bottle, pours a hazy golden with a small white head. Nose contains some Belgian yeast, as well as fruity esters (banana and oranges), and some dough - though this is anywhere from a traditional, rustic farmhouse nose. Flavour confirms this with some Belgian yeast notes, accompanied by some light banana and orange, light peppery notes and some crackery malts. Finishes fairly weak and on the dry cracker notes. Mildly refreshing, but way off-the-mark and no where near a real saison feel. Oakes (18828) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - JUL 4, 2016
The abv went from 6.5 to 6.3, but the IBUs stayed the same. But the brewer is different so how similar this is to the 2014 version I don’t know. Hazy light amber. Thin head. Spicy, light biscuity malts, dryish, light phenols, moderate bitterness. Not somethings I’d buy ahead of Dupont but good. jercraigs (10886) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - DEC 23, 2012
2012-11-02. Hazy golden yellow body with a small off-white head. 3+ Mild aroma, sweet pale malt, yeasty saisony aroma. 7+ Flavour is similar, fairly bitter, lightly peppery, dry saison character, light pale malt. Average bodied palate. Enjoyable but just a touch rough. Bottle shared by GregClow DuffMan (10665) - the land of bitumen, beef & beer, Alberta, CANADA - JAN 25, 2013
Bottle. HAzy deep golden yellow with a very thick and retentive white head. Aroma is heavy estery yeast with soft bready malts. Soft body of sweet pale malts and spicy estery yeast. This wasn’t bad, but lacked subtle character. Kind of like a paint-by-numbers saison, if that makes sense.

[4920-20121102] 650mL bottle. Mild buttery citrus yeast aroma. Slightly hazy, light orange body with a quick foamy white head. Buttery grainy yeast flavour has a bit of a citrus mash going on. Medium body. Nice. (6/3/7/3/15) 3.4

Bottle [650ml] shared with HogTownHarry, GregClow, jerc & mabel -- c/o GregClow. Nov. 2. Pours a murky copper-gold with an average size frothy off-white head. Aroma is perfumy, grainy, herbal and a bit vegetal. Flavour is herbal along with a touch of spice, some citrus and other fruit. Average bodied. I like the flavour a bit more then the aroma, but overall it’s just ’good’. reebtogi (6378) - Edmonton, Alberta, CANADA - DEC 7, 2012
650ml bottle pours a cloudy golden color with a 2 finger white head that retains well and leaves some spotted lacing on the glass. Aromas are of pitted fruits and lemon. Taste is a lemon bitterness with a fruity and malty sweetness and some yeast notes in the finish. Medium bodied with some nice carbonation leaving a little tingle on the tongue. As far as saisons go this one is pretty good and recommended to sample. CapFlu (5132) - Victoria, British Columbia, CANADA - FEB 26, 2013
(650ml bottle) Purchased at Liquor Plus Douglas. Pours a huge white frothy head atop a clear yellow body. Nose of lemon and ginger. Very yeasty and tonic, citrus notes and leafy hops. Solid.

If a rating falls in the forest does anyone hear? How bad can it be he thought as he pulled the bottle out of the fridge. Really have to stop listening to people in beer stores when buying beer....but hey isn’t that what this site is? Very carbonated dark cloudy yellow with a decent but safe head. Aroma at first is wheat beer but deeper into the bottle there is more sour lemon funk. First taste makes me think something is off. Settles in for the first half bottle but still something underneath. Cloudier portions of the bottle blend the funk, lemon and offness but there is still a background off flavour that runs across the back of the tongue.
