COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This Belgian-style farmhouse ale was traditionally brewed to satisfy thirsty farm workers during late summer harvest. With a dominating fruity character, our saison has light malt flavour and is moderately hopped. Whether you’ve been out plowing fields or crunching numbers in a cubicle, it’s a refreshing reward for a hard day’s work. Try it on its own or paired with Thai curried mussels.

Powertrip (1000) - Calgary, Alberta, CANADA - NOV 22, 2012
Single bottle purchased from Kensington Wine Market in Calgary, AB on 11/20/2012. Colour: Light orange and medium yellow...typical saison. Lots of white foam that hangs around forever. Nose: Decent vanilla base with a big fruit background. Some Christmas spice also makes an appearance. Light hint of rubber. Taste: Medium sweet, medium-light bitter, medium-light sour. Sweeter than others Saison’s I’ve tasted - but the sweetness imparts a solid fruit base in the body, which is actually very tasty. The mild bitterness settles nice upon some starchy pasta like body. Quite enjoyable.

Gerbeer (4056) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - SEP 19, 2012
650 ml bottle. Pours a hazy yellow with light head and lots of carbonation. Aromas of yeast, cloves, banana, and pepper. Flavors the same with the addition of citrus/lemon. An OK rendition of the Dupont style of saison. Refreshing.

pintbypint (3877) - Edmonton, Alberta, CANADA - NOV 2, 2012
650ml brown bottle. Medium yellow in colour, hazy. Decent sized white head. Nose has clovey sweet notes, a bit of dough, yeast, mild spice. Taste has some lemon notes, yeast, grains/doughy. Dry finish. Aftertaste has grains, yeast and grass. Medium body, fairly high carbonation. Fairly tasty, refreshing.

Spices are strong in the nose over a sweet malt base with plenty of fruity esters. Hazy straw coloured body is topped by a generous fine bubbled white head that lasts well and leaves some lace. Spices and fruity esters are strong also in the flavour. Medium body with moderate carbonation. Perhaps not entirely traditional but definitely quite drinkable. Bottle purchased at the tap room in September 2012.

2012-11-02. Hazy golden yellow body with a small off-white head. 3+ Mild aroma, sweet pale malt, yeasty saisony aroma. 7+ Flavour is similar, fairly bitter, lightly peppery, dry saison character, light pale malt. Average bodied palate. Enjoyable but just a touch rough. Bottle shared by GregClow

Lively aroma of sweet yeast, citrus, flowers, bubblegum. Light orange colour with large bubbly head. Taste is sweet and bitter citrus, with a bitter aftertaste. Not bad for Granville Island.

One of the better beers from Granville Island. A surprise. Flowery and sweet, nice head, that disappears quickly. I enjoyed this beer and I would drink it again.
