3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours a slightly cloudy amber color with a thick, frothy, white head. Nice aroma of fruits, tartness, biscuity malt and yeast. The flavor is good, there’s a blend of tartness, fruits, slightly peppery and doughy yeast and biscuity malt. The body is medium with a vinous texture and medium to lively carbonation. This is quite good, but not as sophisticated and classy as Hill Farmstead’s other saisons.
750ml bottle poured into a 2013 Raleigh Beer Tasting snifter
A~ dark burnt orange with lots of head and nice lacing
S~ lots of yeast, herbs, and Belgium. (yes it tastes like the country lol)
T~ here’s where it really opens up, light tartness, lots of pepper, citrus, apples, pears, you name some flavor in a saison its probably got it! funk and yeast on the finish.
M~ lots of carbonation, little bit creamy and goes down smooth leaving you with the tartness all the way through.
O~ very good, what i would call a Belgium saison, definitely would drink again but would prefer a stand alone HF saison. still working my way through their saisons/wilds and hope to try them all (hahah yeah ok...)
EDIT: second batch is way better than the first. a lot more lemony tartness and the amber and saison aspects are very well balanced! mansquito (6438) - Nueva York, New York, USA - DEC 18, 2016

Thanks to Jason for the bottle! Pours a cloudy orange/brown with a light head. The smell is fruity, earthy, woody and funky. The taste is fruity, hint of balsamic, wood, funk, with a dry fruity end. Light/medium in body with an elegant, fine carbonation. Great as most HF beers are! bobinlondon (1295) - Harrow, Greater London, ENGLAND - AUG 22, 2016
Bottle shared at Red Squirrel Berkhampstead. Big thanks to Rian. Hazy orange with a white film. Amazing funky aroma and flavour. Smooth carbonation, gentle sourness with sweet malts and dry hoppy finish. Excellent!

Bottle. Pours a clear amber with a slight, weak head. Smells of HF yeast. Taste is light to moderately tart. Light+ bodied; significantly under carbonated; drying finish. Tartness lingers... Very nice taste, but I really wish it wasn’t so under carbonated. Can’t imagine that was what Shaun was going for here. bytemesis (8423) - Sunnyvale, California, USA - MAR 27, 2016
Bottle. Pours hazy Amber, small beige head, decent lacing. Aroma is funk, caramel, grass, Brett, lemon. Flavor is light tart, light funk, hint of dark sugar, Brett and lemon. Light body. JoeMcPhee (9427) - Toronto, ON, Ontario, CANADA - MAR 17, 2016
Gorgeous thick creamy head over a hazy golden/Amber pour. The aroma is
really earthy and herbal with a bit of vanilla and some light
fruitiness. There is a lactic sort of sourdough character and a bit of
grassiness. As it warms - the funkier notes really rise to the fore.
There is a bit of light fruitiness and a touch of oakiness on the
back. Lovely. RobertDale (6480) - Lansing, Kansas, USA - FEB 26, 2016
