Bottle 33 cl. Courtesy of FrumptyDumpty. Pours pitch black with a tiny, rough off-white head. Roasty, ashy nose. Medium body, carbonation is low, very hard roastiness, some vanilla while the JD notes only add a slight edge. Very malt astringent finish. I think I actually prefer the original. 270411 Leighton (22327) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - APR 1, 2013
Bottle in NH - big thanks to Adam. Pours oily, black-brown with a creamy beige head. Ashy roast in the nose, some burnt wood. Medium sweet flavor, quite vinous, with lots of dry burnt wood and bittersweet cocoa. Full bodied with fine carbonation. Moderately dry to finish with charred wood, burnt grass and further bittersweet baking cocoa character. Nice, rich. Pretty bitter with all the charred malts and what have you. Good.
