Dean Swift - RBESG Tasting. Hazy red-brown beer. No real head. Silky smooth palate, zero carbonation. Rich sweet malt and toffee with a nice touch of Port wine. A little aniseed alcohol and warmth in the smooth finish. Sticky toffee tasty treat!
Bottle 33 cl. Courtesy of yespr. Pours an almost opaque nutty brown with a tiny off-white film of a head. Very sweet herbal - tobaccoish? - and caramellish aroma with quite some alcohol. Full and rich body, low carbonation, very sweet notes of overripe fruit - noble rot even - and nuts. Warming alcohol finish. Delicious even if a little hard to drink due to the high sweetness. But a pleasant sipper. 020911 Leighton (22329) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - MAR 3, 2012
Bottle at the RBESG 2011 Grand Tasting, London. Pours clear, ruby-brown with a soft, white head. Brown sugar and big malts in the aroma. Very sweet flavor, tons of ripe and dark fruits, brown sugar, toffee. Full bodied with fine carbonation. Mild hot finish, just great fig, raisin, etc. character. Awesome.
