Unfortunately, it’s an uninspired brew. It pours a clear amber/coopper body with a 2-fingered head that dissolves into a film almost instantly. The aroma is caramel, apples, toast, and apple skins. It tastes of old caramel, old apples, old bread dough, and handful of old dirt.

12oz bottle. Poured a deep orange, almost copper color with a small sized off white head. Aromas of caramel, toasted malts, and a little bready. Tastes of caramel, bread, and light citrus. Thin and watery body. Ughsmash (7502) - Pewaukee, Wisconsin, USA - JUL 1, 2006
On tap at the UW Union. Poured iced tea brown with just a couple of loose bubbles for head... lots of carbonation rising. Nose was of sweet and chalky toffee and darker fruity malts with hints of chocolate. Despite the higher apparent carbonation, this came across as flat on the palate... with flavors of chalky caramel, chocolate, and hints of fruit... didn’t come across as good at any point. temporrari (397) - Fort Wayne, Indiana, USA - MAY 7, 2006
UPDATED: MAR 26, 2010 Pours amber orange with large off white head that is gone in a hurry. Doesn’t look too bad. Doesn’t smell too good though. Doesn’t taste good either. It just has that nasty, poorly made beer taste. You can just tell there are things in the mash of this that shouldn’t be. Pretty bad. I dumped it. thegreenrooster (4633) - St.louis, Missouri, USA - APR 29, 2006
Pour is a amber with a big white head. Aroma is bready malts with some caramel. Flavor is totally watery. Very bland and boring. Nothing to even to write about. Pass this one by.

Pours a dull amber color. Aroma of alcohol with light malts and a slight hint of bubblegum. The flavor is light malt with not much else. It has a very watery distinction with an acidic aftertaste. Poor flavor.

The beer pours a red amber color with a nice 1/2 inch head.
The smell is heaped with butter, dry hops, and roasted peanuts.
The taste isnt bad, but it isnt fanastic. It’s obvious that Gray’s pumps out their Honey and Oatmeal stout as their flagship. It has a good hops kick, but the softer cream notes are watered over. For a taste session beer , this is as mild and plain as it gets. Try it if you like Gray’s brewing. DavidP (1747) - Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA - NOV 23, 2005
Bottle. Clear brown-amber body. This beer smells like extract - twangy caramel. More of that twang in the flavor, this time surrounded by lightly toasted caramel malt. Very uninspring. muzzlehatch (4975) - Beloit, Wisconsin, USA - NOV 10, 2005
12 oz bottle purchased at the Woodmans on Gammon Road, Madison WI. Clear, thick amber with a tiny bit of fizzy head that dies immediately leaving a flat, plain surface, hmm not a good sign...caramel, touch bready, fairly light and innocuous malty nose...sweet, simple initial flavor, caramel again with some light burnt qualities, bit of cinnamon...towards the finish a cardboardy dry character develops leading to a somewhat cottony and dull mouthfeel. Certainly not among Grays’ best. heemer77 (5361) - Urbandale, Iowa, USA - OCT 17, 2005
Froma bottle. Poured as a dark amber body with a persistent off white head. The aroma is bread with some light citrus. There is a flowery fresh scent here. The taste is a little sweet with some earthy hops. There is definitely caramel and brown sugar here. A little bit of toast is present. Pretty good for the style.
