Can at the Martin T tasting, CBC, 06/06/13 big thanks to Nathan the Brigadier for this share. Can badged as the aliased version Bourbons barrel stout. Mid black with a thin tan head. Nose is light roast, dark fruits, mineral notes, light chocolate. Taste comprises woody notes, dark fruit, touch of bourbon, chocolate, light roast. Medium bodied, moderate carbonation, dry roasty finish. Ok impy but lacks a little depth to be a great.

16oz can thanks tastybeer via Brigadier. Inky black pour, opaque, fizzing out reddish foam. Weak retention. Nose is heavy almond, praline, hazelnut, some volatile chemical flavors, butter, alcohol. Taste is sharp char, roasted, some paper, dense melted dark chocolate, more praline and hazelnut. Very good for ba stout in a can ;) Low points are volatile aromas and some paper on the palate. High point is the hazelnut / praline character. Lots of potential here.

16 oz. can via trade with alexsdad06- thanks again, Brad! Interesting sticker label on the can with "Bourbons Barrel Stout"- interesting name, too. Pours a deep but not quite opaque coffee brown with a dark tan head that starts at about a finger and settles into a ring and thin film. Aroma of roasted malts, coffee, toasted brown sugar, charred oak, caramel, dark chocolate, and cola- roast leads the way. Flavor of coffee, roasted malts, dark chocolate, cola, vanilla, brown sugar, and oak. Subtle bourbon. Light-bodied, with a roasty mouthfeel and medium carbonation- a little thin and without the complexity a bourbon barrel impy stout could have.

16 oz. can. Pours a deep dark brown to black with a large creamy tan head. The aroma is roasted malts, chocolate, earthy with a touch of bourbon and vanilla. The flavor is much of the same; dark malts, cocoa, mild coffee with bourbon and vanilla blending nicely. Smooth and creamy with a soft mouth feel. A pretty nice offering from a somewhat local brewery.

16oz can spits out some head upon opening, and the top gets half full with brown head and dark ale. Over-filled? Be careful when opening. Very big impressively dark brown colored head that fizzes loudly. Deep black color, with bubbles on the side of the glass. Fine, smooth, but stronger carbonation. Dry texture, little loose lace. Heavier coffee, some roasty chocolate aroma. Light bourbon. Bitter sweet taste. Good wood. Some creaminess, pepper taste. Lighter body. Stronger carbonation causes this to be a bit burpy for me, holds it back. I feel like this must be much better on tap than from the can.
