From a can purchased at brewery, drank 4 months later. Aroma is a thick woody barrel age note. Very appealing. Very dark head which last for a long long time. Pretty amazing actually a very nice looking beer. Taste is a oak barrel bourbon flavor, if this is truly 8% pretty amazing. Very full body, which is top notch. Pretty much the best bourbon barrel out there. They use makers mark which is top notch like the beer. Kco (53) - USA - JAN 26, 2012
Dark brown opaque color with a creamy light brown head. Aroma of chocolate and bourbon. Nice caramel and chocolate flavor works vary well with the bourbon. It has just enough hops to leave a crisp finish. Patrickctenchi (6808) - Cox’s Knob, columbus, Indiana, USA - OCT 16, 2012
Pours oily black with a huge, dark, chunky head.
Aroma is chocolate, cream, scent of soaked, charred, bourbon barrel.
Taste is really nice wood at the front....that special, slightly sour mash tingle, smooth bourbon....
Creamy and delicious....with bourbon increasing with warmth.....very good stuff. StefanSD (2468) - Ouray, Colorado, USA - MAR 9, 2012
1 pint can courtesy of StFun. Pours a dense opaque black color with a small tan head that slowly recedes to a fine ring. The aroma is ripe with blackened barley, earth and coffee. The flavor, like the aroma, is earthy with blackened barley, coffee, chocolate, mocha and a well balanced dram of whiskey. The palate is creamy and smooth with soft carbonation. Finishes long and dry. Overall: This is mocha bomb, I loved it. Thanks Josh. alexsdad06 (11223) - West Chester, Ohio, USA - MAR 11, 2012
16 oz. can. Pours a deep dark brown to black with a large creamy tan head. The aroma is roasted malts, chocolate, earthy with a touch of bourbon and vanilla. The flavor is much of the same; dark malts, cocoa, mild coffee with bourbon and vanilla blending nicely. Smooth and creamy with a soft mouth feel. A pretty nice offering from a somewhat local brewery.
