Wasn’t too impressed with this scotch ale. Literally made my face pucker up and cringe as the cloyingly sweet taste just made me sick. One of the few times I have left a beer unfinished
Sampled from the tap at the brewpub. Pours a very deep amber with a thin brown head that starts and remains at the edges. Aroma has a good amount of bread with hints of dark grains and toffee underlying. Flavor has bread and light roast notes throughout with a touch of toffee backing. jackl (8013) - Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA - MAY 6, 2017
Keg @ Great Dane. Deep russet pour with an offwhite head. Fairly unengGing nose - caramel, some toasted grain. Light leafy hop. Flavor’s sweet and a touch smoky. More caramel. Smoked malt accents. Brown sugar. Full body, soft carb. rubbishystuff (2521) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - APR 3, 2017
At downtown location brewpub. Rather thin flavor for a stronger sort of beer. Needed more peat. Serving: Cask LilBeerDoctor (3903) - Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA - SEP 23, 2014
On cask at the Downtown location. Pours a clear deep amber brown with a thin light tan head. Aroma of caramel malt, toffee, hazelnut, sweet fruits, cola. Flavor of peat, sweet malt, burnt sugar, grape. Some odd bitter vegetal notes. Not a fan of this one.

Served in a glass @ GD in Wausau. Appearance was mid-brown hue with a light lacing. Aroma was of slightly smoky malts. Taste was typical of a scotch - malty, smoky and a light hop finish. Palate was decent. Overall, this was not one of the better Scotch ales I have tasted but it was OK.

Smoky aroma with a band-aid note. Some sweetness but a thin blend of flavors and not as bold as the better scotch ales. Cask / hand-pull gave it a different palate. (on cask at brewpub) wilnatp (692) - Minnesota, USA - MAY 17, 2012
TAP: Pour is murky brown/amber. Peat and earth come through on the nose with some malt. Tastes of caramel with some toasted malts, peat and soil. Taste is pretty tame/faint but aftertaste is bolder and is strong on the peat and almost swampy. I was hoping for more from a Scotch Ale. Sammy (12091) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - SEP 8, 2011
Enjoyed on cask at the downtown brewpub. Dark body, peaty and roasty. Bubbles surround the typical cssk head. Served slightly warm as I would expect. A one-dimensional salty peat story which becomes a novelty. OK drinkability if you are into Scotch or this sort of thing. stangger (619) - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - AUG 15, 2011
On tap at doty. On cask. Bourbon aroma. Roasted malts, coffee, alcohol, bourbon. Served warm..I kind of liked it. tmoreau (4293) - Lombard, Illinois, USA - AUG 15, 2011
Cask at the Doty location, and served to a house-logo pint glass, with a dark brown/ruby highlighted color, modest, off white/light tan foam that reduced rather quickly to a ring & film, and left some light streaks & spots of lacing. The aroma was roastiness, some caramel sweetness, and earthy peat notes. The flavor was similar, with a medium+ body, low carbonation, some added, leafy tobacco hints, and a little dryness on the finish. Not bad.
