Cask at the brewpub. Poured a hazy medium orange color with a thin white head. Aroma was of malty caramel, flowery hops, Irish breakfast tea, and subdued apple. Smooth cask mouth feel without much carbonation. Body was on the lighter end of the spectrum. The flavor was dominated by flowery hops with some chamomile and biscuity malt. I liked this one. presario (4916) - Stampede City, Alberta, CANADA - MAY 29, 2007
Chicago Trip. Sunday 20:50. Sample tray. Hazy orange. Lasting creamy head. Very nice toffee hop nose. Nice English ale but could use some more finishing hops. DavidP (1748) - Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA - MAY 20, 2007
5/6/2007 - "cask" @ downtown location. Hazy brown body, small white head. Lightly toasted pale malt in the aroma. Bit more of a melanoidy toast bit in the flavor with an assertive hop bitterness. Leafy hop finish, still trending towards bitter hops instead of flavorful ones. Quaffable and not flawed just not remarkable. troyc (2869) - Illinois, USA - MAY 17, 2007
(Tap) Pours a light brown color with a nice head. Aroma and taste was similar to tea. Mouthfeel was decent Lacing was pretty good as well. It was definitely interesting, but not particularly good. JPDIPSO (6262) - Wauwatosa, USA - MAY 14, 2007
Cask. Bronze color with just a few bubbles meandering about atop the liquid. Rather lifeless looking. Aromas of floor malt and mild citric hops. Light sour dough as well. Flavors of sour dough and lightly toasted grains. Touch of grass and floral hops. I’d say the cask was slightly off, on what seems to be a solid, if not boring (typical) english ale.

Very tasty. Creamy texture, great color. Some toasted malt tones, but the flowery hops shine here. Not very bitter, but also not very sweet. A great archetypical pub beer. Ughsmash (7508) - Pewaukee, Wisconsin, USA - MAY 7, 2007
On tap at G.D. downtown. Poured a hazy deep amber with a short creamy beige head. Aroma picked up sweet caramel and toasted nutty malts with some nice dried floral hoppage.. sweet and pleasant. Flavor found a sweet caramel and honey base.. some mild floral bitterness surrounding and a touch of citrus bitterness... leaves a dusty impression on the finish with moderate bitterness.. rather tasty. Little lighter-bodied on the palate and a tad empty over the middle. Solid overall. jewedekind (450) - Middleton, Wisconsin, USA - MAY 6, 2007
Pours a creamy, cappuccino-like head that lingers and laces, a bit of haze in the red-brown brew keeps it from getting all five points for appearance. Nice and biscuity and doughy with nuts. Nice use of hops to tilt it to the bitter side with some slight citrus notes. Nice session beer. Silphium (3199) - Traverse City, Michigan, USA - APR 15, 2007
On cask at the downtown Madison location. Fiery orange-red body, medium off-white head. Aroma of light medicinal and citric hops. Crisp, bright, hoppy body, with lemony notes balanced by light, bready malt. Quaffable but simple.
