Keg @ Great Dane. Medium amber pour with a small head. Nose is malt-forward. Some glazed donut. Suggests a bit of booziness. Toasted grain. Light peppered grass. Flavor is a bit ragged. Some booze and windex. Soft plum fruit. Gentle grain. Medium body, very strong carb. Sort of a fiasco. Ughsmash (7508) - Pewaukee, Wisconsin, USA - MAY 6, 2005
Poured a reddish-tan with below-average head retention. Plums, prunes, and pine in the nose. Light fruity taste that was rather sweet. Hops noted in taste, but were rather secondary. Mildly carbonated with an almost tingly mouthfeel. This was a decent beer that I will likely skew toward "good" because I enjoy the style.

Sampled from a growler shared by malachi following DL06: Pours a clear copper bronze with a nicely-lacing off-white head. Fresh, grainy caramel malty aroma has authentic noble hoppy balance. Body starts with a sweet toasted maltiness well balanced with good noble hoppiness. Very authentic and enjoyable. Pailhead (6539) - Rochester Hills, Michigan, USA - APR 30, 2006
Growler: Courtesy of malachi at the Hampton Inn Tasting (Saturday). Grassy aroma with hints of fruit, nuts, and caramel. Pours a bright transparent orange with a small off-white head. Lightly fruity with some hints of toffee and light brown sugar. Finishes with a nutty sweetness and a touch of bitterness. JPDIPSO (6216) - Wauwatosa, USA - MAY 18, 2004
Amber color with a mderate ecru head. Sweet hops and malt aromas with a light clean lager nose. Pale malt sweetness throughout. Floral hops jump in the mix and help distact. A touch too sweet for my palate. Skyview (5927) - Papoose Jct, Minnesota, USA - MAY 19, 2008
Served on draught at the Wisconsin Micro-brewers Beerfest in Chilton, Wisconsin. Pours a clear dark golden colored brew with an average off-white head that has a slow dissolve to a fine film and white ring. Aroma of roasted caramel malt, some light raisin, honey with a mild grassy hop character. Taste is somewhere between medium to full bodied, light carbonation with flavors of semi-sweet caramel malt, honey, a touch of herbal spice and some raisin. Finish is semi-sweet, slightly bitter with a grassy and caramel aftertaste. Best served not so cold. heemer77 (5355) - Urbandale, Iowa, USA - MAY 25, 2005
Body is a light copper color with a white head. The aroma is sweet molasses and vanilla. The taste is strong caramel and a little toffee. There is a burn that seems like alcohol. This is sharp on the tongue. The mouthfeel is sticky.
