Several draught pints and glasses at the Hilldale location, 2014-16, most recently in early June of this year. Pours a darker amber-gold than I might expect, almost clear, with a bit of lasting head....caramel-malty nose, a touch of darker, smokier stuff, light herbal qualities...body is lightly syrupy, moderately sweet - honey and a bit of raisin or dates perhaps - not at all hoppy/bitter, faintly smoky/burnt/caramelized throughout, and a bit dryer and more burnt at the finish...low carbonation, a bit sticky. Fairly similar to Capital’s Maibock, which I like a little more (and really should re-rate next time I have it); it’s a bit much, a bit sticky in a pint sample, which is the main difference - the Capital is just more drinkable and less heavy to my taste. In any case both are good reasons to look forward to spring. tmoreau (4365) - Lombard, Illinois, USA - MAY 11, 2012
Accompanied lunch on the day before GT ticket sales. On tap at the downtown Madison brewpub on Doty, and served to an imp. pint glass with a clear, amber hue, a modest amount of light tan, bubbles & cream head foam, and waves & spots of clingy lacing. The nose was light grain, a little sweetness, a touch of spice, and light hints of caramel and vanilla. A little better than softly carbonated, and medium bodied, the flavor also presented a low hop bitterness, light sweetness, and a subtle, finishing bitterness & dryness. Food complementary, quaffable, and fairly clean. goldtwins (4320) - Nesconset, New York, USA - MAY 11, 2006
DL06: Poured a clear golden amber color with a thin off-white head. Sweet fruity malt aroma with notes of apples and golden raisins. The flavor is fruity and estery. Light bitter finish. Brigadier (3680) - Chagrin Falls, Ohio, USA - APR 30, 2006

There was a slightly off wheat scent intermingled with hints of orange peels and fruity hops from this amber bodied bock. The flavor was good but not outstanding - I was able to detect caramel, toffee, hazelnut and pine at various stages. Enjoyable but coming from the Dane I was expecting a little more.
Tap at the downtown location tonight. The beer pours to a transluscent chestnut body with a creamy white head. The flavor is toasty/roasty, floral/herbal/Saaz-ish hops. The aroma is floral/herbal/grassy. Honeysuckle. The palate is quite carbonated with a malty mouthfeel.

On tap at the downtown location. Clear orange-brown body, medium-thick buff head. Toasty, caramely aroma backed by grassy hops. Toasty body with brown sugar and berries, sweet, with candy and medicinal notes. Balanced by earthy, grassy hops. Clean and quick-drinking. troyc (2869) - Illinois, USA - MAY 17, 2007
(Tap) Pours a light brown color with a small tan head. Aroma features light caramel and grain. Taste includes caramel, nut, and brown sugar. A light hoppiness also comes through in here. Smooth mouthfeel, but could use a little more body. TXBadger (2811) - Dallas, Texas, USA - MAR 30, 2015
Pours a clear darker amber color with off-white head. Floral notes, caramel malt, and some grain on the nose; follows onto the palate. Finishes with a nice balance between the hops and malts. MIBRomeo (2570) - Wisconsin, USA - MAY 2, 2010
Blah overly sweet both in aroma and tAste but worse yet a very fake sugar sweetness that comes off like those crappy pink packets. Avg pal nice appearance downhill from there. I won’t drink it again Kevin (2199) - Montana, USA - MAY 1, 2006
amber body with a grey white head. nose is loose and hard to catch. a bit of honeysuckle. flavor is astringent pear and balsa wood. apricot finishsomehow still smooth.
