As a truly British India Pale Ale, Potter's Run is packed full of the flavor of imported English Kent Goldings hops. This copper ale is served slightly warmer and uncarbonated through an authentic beer engine to create a traditional ale drinking experience.

Fresh hoppy aroma. Not too overbearing. Amber in color. Very thick, fine bubble head. Underwhelming flavor. Not real hoppy. The Texas Speedbump was better. One of the more disappointing IPAs I've had. I guess I wasn't missing much at my July 18 visit to the Great Dane when they were out of the Potters Run!

Cloudy amber body. Aroma is moderately sweet, apricot, lightly floral. Minimal taste up front, but mid-body is moderately sweet peach, finishing with light floral bitterness. Medium body.

Very hoppy, slight fruitiness; indistinct on the nose; not enough malt. Forgettable.

Rerate: Still a very good locally brewed IPA! Very citric and floral. Not as hoppy as the first one I tried.

Way too floral for my taste. Even for an IPA...............................

schm1005 (151) - Seattle, Washington, USA - OCT 16, 2002
Not hoppy enough for an IPA and a wee bit watered down. That is NEVER a good thing!

UPDATED: OCT 25, 2004 I've learned to love this brew. Hand-pulled. Deep amber color, lasting head. Hop-candy aromas, I am beginning to appreciate a good EKG IPA more than its citrusy american counterpart. Full, silky body, Excellent usage of flavoring hops while keeping the bitterness at a drinkable level. Huge malty sweetness is dried out in the finish by the big hops. A classy IPA.

I'm surprised by the ratings here. Dry? Watery? Try it again, I urge you.

UPDATED: JAN 17, 2006 It looks alright and was not poisonous, but there just was nothing about it. Re-rate, January 16, 2006: Wow... I’m going to leave my original "rate" as an example of how not to start rating beers. I’m glad I finally got to retry this beer. Dark copper color with a medium head. Slight wood aroma with some hops. The taste was almost of vegetable-like hops. Wow, I actually wrote EKG hops in my notebook and I was right! Slight rum flavor for the finish. Pretty nice.

herbstress3 (221) - Bellingham, Washington, USA - OCT 4, 2002
Horrible aftertaste and extremely dry. Definitely better IPA’s out there....

JPDIPSO (6236) - Wauwatosa, USA - SEP 24, 2002
Amber color with a minimal light tan head. Hopsack aroma. Sweet dark caramel flavor with a enough hops to prevent the sweetness from being cloying. Nice nutty-almond finish. Nothing over the top, but a solid IIPA
