Lighter amber, poured on draft with a small cream colored head. Good head retention and lace. Hops aroma leaning towards the floral and pungent. Flavor similar, floral hops aromatics balance out the sweetness of what would otherwise be an oversweet, cloying malt profile. Full bodied. Competent but one-dimension strong pale ale.
On tap at Great Dane Hilldale. Hazy to murky copper with a thin white head. Aroma of citrus, grapefruit, sweet malt and mild alcohol. Grapefruit dominates the palate and leads to a medium bitter finish. Caramel, citrus and floral hops creep in and it’s fairly balanced. phishpond417 (2088) - Madison, Wisconsin, USA - FEB 13, 2009
Sampled on draught at Hilldale: Poured a dark mahogany colour with a big off white head. Aroma is strong of hops, alcohol and caramel. Taste is fruity, citrusy and well hopped. I had one of these and the buzz was nice. Chewy initially, it finishes very floral, piney with citrus notes.
