As opposed to its bigger Czech cousin Pecks Pilsner, our German Pils is a traditional German-style brau. The renowned German Hallertau Mittelfruh hop and pilsner malt produce a lighter-bodied pils that finishes crisp yet soft. So authentic and drinkable, it cries Bring on the liters!

I believe this is the beer they referred to as the German pils. Faint Aroma of hay and corn. Pretty disappointing standard lager here. Inoffensive but uninteresting, to say the least.

On tap at downtown location - This wasnt too bad--a lot better than I expected. Pours clear straw yellow with barely a head. Smells fruity, with bread and honey notes. Taste is mild malt, bread, yeast. Its over-carbonated, but once it warmed a bit it calmed down. I wouldnt mind drinking this on a hot day.

On tap at the Wausau MN Great Dane as "George Ruders" german pils. A clear yellow color with white head. Faint grassy aroma with mild hops and more of the same in the body, but with a bready taste and a bit of caramel malt in the finish.

UPDATED: MAR 8, 2009 On tap at the brewpub. Very pale straw gold color with excellent clarity, modest white head, minimal lace. Nice variety of hops sensations, grassy on the aroma, floral in the mouth, citric on the aftertaste. Flavor also includes a pleasant spicy sensation and some sweet cereal body, but is slightly stale on the malts, with a slightly off stale-to-metallic tang. Thin bodied, but with a pleasantly peppery mouthfeel.

on tap at great dane, sampled next to their czech pils (Pecks) and this didn’t come close, a nice hallertau hop character but it was more underplayed than the saaz in Pecks, with a body that isn’t near as full. i still enjoyed this but i would have to choose Pecks over this easy.

Pours a vibrant, golden colour with a small off white head. Well balanced, not overly malted, pours with retention. Nice lacing, Aroma is fruity on the nose, yet taste is soft of grain and dough. Finishes slightly bitter.

Served on draught at the Wisconsin Micro-brewers Beerfest in Chilton, Wisconsin. Pours a clear straw blonde colored brew with a fast dissolving white head that dissipates to a thin white ring. Aroma of crystal grain malt, some corn grits, with a touch of grassy hops. Taste is light bodied, a little gritty in texture with flavors of a light multi-grain crystal malt, grassy hops and a touch of white pepper. Finish is a little gritty, some grassy hop character aftertaste that quickly disappears to a crisp finish.

Straw yellow with no head. Light corn nose with some grassy hops and sweet malts. Taste of mild corn and perfumed sweet malts. A little sour and chalky with a bitter finish.
