hard to rate this as one as I had different vintages that were scored drastically different, 4.1, 4.0 and a 3.4 for 18. gotta go with the average I guess. Andresvendsen (199) - - AUG 1, 2014
Riktigt bra och snygg öl. Sund att jag inte har någon kvar dock.

2011 backlog. 17th Anniversary edition. Pours clear dark amber with a 2 finger thick white head that left chunky lacing. The nose is sweet caramel and ripe citrus. The taste is toffee, overripe citrus, and a nice tart grapefruit finish. Medium bodied. Tasty. 3.8 ConnyPetersson (75) - SWEDEN - APR 18, 2014
Flaska från 2012. Mjuk och krämig. Skön beska fortfarande. Fruktig, nästan apelsinmarmelad koleminer20 (3704) - Ann Arbor, Michigan, USA - APR 15, 2014
650 mL bottle of 17th Anniversary shared at Tippins at an impromptu tasting. Thanks Dom! The pour on this is a pale gold, with some darker tendencies and a nice tall white head and some moderate spotty lace. The aroma is definitely hoppy and bitter, but the oak almost provides a little bit of a vanilla malty sweetness toward the back end. It’s really good. The flavor is much of the same. The hops are definitely toned down from what I’d expect, and I think the oak has a large part of that. They offer a little more of an earthy character. It’s not as dominated by a hoppy presence as I’d expect for an double IPA, but it’s still quite good. The mouth feel is a little thin, but decently creamy, with a great carbonation, and a decent aftertaste, but there isn’t the citrusy dominance that I was hoping for. It’s a little dry, which is good

Backlog - 16th anniversary. Strong wooden notes and accompanying sweetness paired with the usual hop aromas. hotstuff (5176) - Fort Wayne, Indiana, USA - JAN 14, 2014
Rated on 9-25-2009 at Fort Wayne, IN Gathering. This bottled beer provided by patrick767 pours a small off-white head with a good retention, transparent amber body, fair amount of lacing, and visible carbonation. The Aroma is malty, oak, floral, and citrus hops. The Taste is sweet, bitter, malty, oak, hint of vanilla, floral, and citrus hops. The Palate is lightly tingly and this beer is full bodied. Overall, this beer is a sipping beer at 10%ABV, but I did not find it to be overly hoppy tasting for the style. Tomy63 (202) - Clermont-Ferrand, FRANCE - NOV 26, 2013
Beergeek23322 (2602) - Chester, Virginia, USA - OCT 4, 2013
5/13/2011. 22 oz. bottle. Had both the 16th and 17th version. Dark amber color with an off-white head. Aromas of caramel, hops, malt, tropical fruit with some sweetness from the oak. Rich and complex with plenty of hops on the finish. jmarsh123 (163) - Indiana, USA - OCT 3, 2013
Pours a dark copper with an off-white head that never quite goes away. Good lacing down the glass as well.
Smells of sweet oakey vanilla. A little earthiness and some fruity hop character as well. Smells sweet, but not overly so.
Strong forward presence of oak and vanilla with a little malty sweetness rounded out by bitter piney resinous hops. Finishes a bit wet with lingering bitterness and vanilla.
A little bit sticky and good carbonation.
Been waiting to crack this one open for a bit as I loved the 16th Ann. It didn’t disappoint. I hate the Rumble IPA, but this one is great. Lots of good vanilla presence and a good marriage of hops and malt. A very good DIPA.
