Based on our most award-winning beer, Denver Pale Ale, this copper-hued treat is a celebration of everything Great Divide does best. Plenty of malty sweetness provides a backdrop for earthy, floral English and American hops, while French and American oak round off the edges and provide a touch of vanilla. [email protected] (thanks to the bartender from some pub Falun, both for a sip from this as well as for a good chat). Deep amber colour with small beige creamy head. Aroma is zest, lots of fruity and floral hops along with some wooden notes as well as caramel malts. Flavour is quite much the same, but the wooden notes are a bit stronger. Rather interesting result.

UPDATED: SEP 6, 2010 Bottle shared with Michael & Jane, and Darrell at Pizzeria Paradiso. Clear deep orange amber with a small white head, some lacing. Aroma of orange peel and malt. Tastes of bourbon, and very strongly so. Lots of oak, very dry, and a nice bitter finish. Needs to tone down the bourbon, and it would be a great beer. 3.5 Second rating, bottle courtesy of Dave at Max’s - thank you sir! Aroma more closely resembles unfiltered apple cider, and the whiskey was much more subtle in the taste, which also featured sour apple pie, cinnamon and birch. 4.0

Bottled at Stockholm Beer Festival. Clear ambe, airy head. Cookie malt and lychee strikes first. Sweet and full bodied wth clean, rounded mouthfeel. Dough and aromatic grapefruit, notesof wood. Mid bitter finish. The alcohol is well hidden and it feels harmonious.

15th Anniversary. Hazy amber brown beer. Frothy off white head. Toffee vanilla nose. Semi soft palate. Rich malt with a toffee streak. A little wood vanilla but not particularly sweet. Rich hops but somewhat repressed. Aniseed alcohol at the finish. Nice but more of BA Barleywine methinks!
