Bottle 75 cl. Courtesy of bu11zeye. Pours black with a vague tint of red. Only a tiny beige head. Oaky aroma. Very full-bodied and very low in carbonation. Hard roasted malts and vanilla. Dried fruits. Warming alcohol finish. Lovely. 220909 Rasmus40 (21689) - Beder, Aarhus, DENMARK - JAN 22, 2013
Bottle @ Aarhus tasting. Black with a lasting dark brown head. Aroma is sweet, roasted malt, chocolate, wood and notes of red wine - probably from the wood. Flavor is very sweet, very bitter and light acidic. Dry and rather bitter finish with warming alcohol and a small acidity. Oily and smooth. The acidity seems to come more from the barrel than from an infection. 220113 fiulijn (21022) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - SEP 22, 2009
Black color, no head, just a few sparse bubbles. Aroma of cocoa powder, dusty, with chocolate and light oak. Powerful body, strong chocolate flavor, residual sweetness, evident alcohol punch with Port shades, nice subdued vanilla oak feeling; there is some liquorice too; it has a strong bitterness, with dark chocolate in the end. Powerful but very well balanced, extremely enjoyable.
