We toned down the hops a bit to allow cocoa nibs to contribute some pleasing bitterness, while vanilla notes from the oak combine with the cocoa to create an aroma and flavor akin to a gourmet chocolate bar. A dash of cayenne keeps things lively, adding just a bit of heat to the finish. A Yeti for summer? Hell yes.

DELICIOUS!!! Pours a dark chocolate brown with a nice thick brown lacing head. Aroma fills the nostrils with the nice smell of chocolate. Very dry beer with a malty start. Nice oak finish with a tingling aftermath that is hard to explain. VERY GOOD BEER>\

UPDATED: DEC 9, 2017 Sometimes you stumble into good fortune. Great Divide and the Yeti imperial stouts have been personal favorites and I happened to find this 22 oz bomber at Spec's in Lubbock, TX. Couldn't stand to wait any longer so here we go. The label says the bottle was put up on 2/3/17, bought in October and opened in December. The raven black liquid pours into my Buffalo Bayou tulip glass. The head is the normal Yeti dark mahogany brown, plentiful and long lasting. Lifting to my nose I find chocolate (duh), raspberry and some earthiness. A good sip now, Holy crap. Outstanding. Molasses, chocolate malt, dark fruit, a hint of brown sugar, charred wood. Dense and deep. Very full in the mouth. A bit of bitterness afterwards. A little heat too, unusual. Really nice. Great Divide, you have met my expectations and then some.

On tap at the brewpub. Pitch black with a brown head. Quite fizzy for a stout. Bourbon and chocolate flavours. Very good.

Nose is rich and malty with lots of wine notes. Really dark with brown head and some oak on the nose. Taste is oak, light bitterness and some light salmiac. Palate is also ammoniumchloride with oily notes.

Pours black with noce frothy dark tan head. Moderate head retention, little lacing. Roasty, cocoa and strong coffee nose. Full bodied, soft carbonation, viscous texture. Taste is roasty, cocoa, coffee, with a little subtle hot aftertaste. Smooth, robust and enjoyable.

Cierta densidad y algo espumoso. Bastante buena para repetir sin duda.

Tap at Roor in Oslo, 11th October 17. Pours black with a light tan head. Aroma is coffee, cocoa. Taste is dry and bitter, dusty cocoa, bitter dark chocolate. I had feared this would be sweet, but it's spot on, smooth, bitter. Great stuff.
